Backstage Creations Helps Make The “Celebrity Retreat” At The Writers Guild Awards A Major Success

The 2013 Writers Guild Awards had their own “Celebrity Retreat” that provided all the celebs with some majorly awesome gifts!

Backstage Creations, specialists in award show gifts and custom backstage Celebrity Retreats, produced the “Celebrity Retreat™” at the 2013 Writers Guild Awards at the JW Marriott L.A. LIVE in Los Angeles, on Sunday, February 17, honoring outstanding writing in film, television, new media, videogames, news, and radio.

Presenters Jessica Chastain and Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty), Jane Lynch (Glee), Jacki Weaver (Silver Linings Playbook), Rico Rodriguez (Modern Family), Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad), Walton Goggins (Justified), Brad Garrett (Everyone Loves Raymond) and nominees/winners Tony Kushner (Lincoln), Mark Boal (Zero Dark Thirty) and more were thanked for their support with the opportunity to preview product trends showcased in the Retreat.

Celebrity Retreat™ Brands Include:

Academy Award Nominated Best Actress, Jessica Chastain, and Academy Award Nominated Best Supporting Actress, Jacki Weaver wrote notes of encouragement at the iFred, the International Foundation for Research and Education on Depression booth. Acclaimed playwright, Tom Stoppard, a Writers Guild Honoree, wrote an encouraging note saying “The sunshine is coming back to you.”

Jacki Weaver, when asked to do the blind taste test for Purity Vodka, joked “Blind taste test? Does that mean you taste until you’re blind? I like the purity one, it’s very smooth!”

Jessica Chastain was happy to have some vegan snacks and loved the Sabra Dipping Company hummus while Brad Garrett said they have some in their frig at home.

Jane Lynch stopped by the Essentious booth to sample their new hair care saying “this smells edible!” Academy award nominee, Jackie Weaver, echoed her sentiments saying, “this smells great, I want it for dessert!”

Jon Lucas and Scott Moore, writers of The Hangover and 21 & Over, brought their wives by the suite who gushed over Infinite Lash saying “I can’t wait to to try it!”

Walton Goggins, who appeared in Lincoln and Django, is excited to use The Oaks at Ojai Spa certificate while he and his wife house hunt in Ojai.

Brad Garrett, who honored Phil Rosenthal at the event, was thrilled about the Rocky Mountaineer train ride, eagerly asking around the suite to see who will go with him.

Rachel Hulan for Furnishing Hope- Matt Weiner was impressed that Furnishing Hope has been able to provide hundreds of wounded warriors and their families with fully furnished, nurturing environments and offered to donate some furniture from his set of Mad Men.

Interior Designer Rachel Hulan, ASID, CID, of sustainable interiors firm Hulan Design, created a luxury lounge showcasing the amazing furniture and sense of purpose found in the work of Furnishing Hope. Guests were introduced to the work of Furnishing Hope, and were given information on how to donate furniture, a certificate towards purchasing any item at a discount, and information on getting involved if interested. Hulan Design provided a certificate towards a free consultation.
