Kate Gosselin's Kids Scared When Left By Mom For 'Wife Swap' TV Show

When the single mom left her eight children for a week with a complete stranger and a TV crew of unfamiliar faces, the Gosselin kids were reportedly ‘traumatized’ by the experience! Read on for more details.

Kate Gosselin abandoned her life as a single mom of eight kids for a week to tape the ABC spinoff show Celebrity Wife Swap, where she traded places with fellow Dancing with the Stars alum Kendra Wilkinson. But her children were not happy to be a part of the experience — in fact, they were terrified for the whole week!

Robert Hoffman, who wrote the tell-all book about Kate titled Kate Gosselin: How She Fooled the World, reveals that the two reality stars swapped lives for a week back in November, and the kids were visibly distraught.

“The Gosselin children were scared and very confused, having no idea who their new mom-for-a-week was, or why they were left alone with her to be filmed by strangers,” he said, according to RadarOnline.com.

Robert added that the kids had to keep quiet for months, and were banned from telling anyone about their traumatic experience — not even friends from school.

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Kate and Kendra will swap lives for the ABC show, where Kate will assume the role of the former Girls Next Door star, and live with Kendra’s husband Hank Baskett and their son Hank Baskett IV.

Kendra, meanwhile, will live as a single mom with Kate’s eight kids: twins Cara and Mady, 12, and sextuplets Aaden, Collin, Joel, Leah, Alexis and Hannah, 8, whom Kate shares with her ex-husband Jon Gosselin.

Apparently, Kate’s family was not happy with the change-up!

the show stank. kate didn’t fit with the name or the premise of the show, Celebrity WIFE Swap. She isn’t a celebrity and she sure ain’t a wife! Every scene of Kendra with her child or the Gosselin kids showed a fun, loving, caring person. Every scene of the other one showed a cold, critical, picky person (who had NO right to criticize anyone for anything based on her own actions).

What a stupid show. I’m not even going to watch it. How is it fair to swap a mother of one, with a mother of eight? I am shocked that Kendra would be willing to do it. She must not have any sense. I guess Kate is hoping that some new opportunities will arise after having her brood on tv again. I hope the show flops–lets show Kate that her “15 minutes of fame” is over, and that she needs to get a normal job. She is not any better than the rest of us working/stay-at-home moms!

I also meant to say Kate isn’t a “celebrity” or a “wife” so why is she on the show?

Poor kids! Will this woman stop at nothing for fame?! She has NO talent of her own and is only offered things that involve her poor children. Their “cuteness” factor is diminishing and soon she won’t even be able to get offers even involving them. Go get a REAL job while your kids are gone 8-10 hours each day. Simple!!

Kate would drop her kids in a second for TV. She is obsessed and can’t take being out. She is no celeb and nobody wants her. Fatal Attraction Gosselin is psycho. And she will never be a wife again. No man will let her near their family jewels.

The kids will never be ok after what Kate has put them through. She has emotionally and physically damaged them for life. I’d never leave my child alone with Kate.

Robert’s book is coming out…it will prove that Kate is a Child Abuser and an Animal Abuser. All from her very own words. You cant spin it…try as you might…the truth is the truth.

I never seen those kids have a problem in front of cameras before, always the build up, just the script. They are fine same as having a baby sitter for a week! only Kate is getting paid and not paying for the baby sitter. REality TV…..scripted to make people watch,…how will the kids handle this. I guess we can see who the new actresses and actors will be out of her family!

Never seen the kids have issues with the cameras? Really? How many times have we seen these kids crying? or trying to hide their faces? How happy do they look when momster kate is forcing them to pretend to be happy? So Jon has had a few gf’s…No matter who Jon is with,he is the one to controll his kids.They look so happy with Jon…never happy with kate.

I doubt they were traumatized. These kids grew up with cameras and film crews and they are old enough to understand what is going on. Plus, their dad, Jon Gosselin has gone through several girlfriends since he and Kate split so they are use to strangers helping to take care of them.

The kids are old enough to understand that …make kate happy and you might get an extra cracker for dinner.Make kate happy and you might not get beaten with a wooden spoon tonight.Make kate happy and you might not get sent to bed with no dinner. Please. This woman is a Child Abuser!

No! The kids are not used to cameras invading their lives anymore. It has been over 2 years since the kids have been forced to work by Kate. It’s not the kids job to give Kate the life she thinks she deserves. Kate should WORK………not the kids! Kate should be giving everything she has for the kids. All she does is sit her fat a ss on twitter all day waiting for the 6 sheeple to tell her they love her. The nannys,the sitters,the maids,the pool boy,the lawn mowers,the chef,the laundry girl ect take care of the house and the kids.I agree,this woman is an ABUSER. Kendra enjoys her time with her son.Kate can’t wait to get away.
