‘Vampire Diaries’ Video: Stefan Tells Elena A Secret ‘Between Friends’

This week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries may be airing on Valentine’s Day, but love is definitely not in the air between Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Elena (Nina Dobrev), as they officially solidify their relationship status as “friends.” But in true TVD fashion, Rebekah (Claire Holt) misinterprets the interaction as more than friendly as she watches the exes interact from a distance.

Here’s Stefan & Elena’s word-for-word interaction:

Elena: Once again, everyone’s life is in danger looking for this cure, because poor Elena can’t deal with being a vampire.

Stefan: No, everyone’s here because they want to be. Not just for you, but for themselves, too.

Elena: Stefan, why didn’t you tell me that you wanted the cure for yourself?

Stefan: Why wouldn’t I want to take it? I’ve seen every side of vampirism there is: power, misery, the guilt. In the long run, even the good parts kind of suck, too.

Elena: I know why you’d want to take it, but what I’m saying it, ‘Why didn’t you tell me?’

Stefan: ‘Cause it had nothing to do with you. I mean, you know how much I’ve wanted a human life with you. Being human myself, being normal, that’s something I’ve wanted since long before I met you.

Elena: Well, I’m glad you told me now.

Stefan: Yeah, well, what’s a deeply buried personal secret between friends?

Elena: ‘Between friends?’ I like that.

Rebekah: [Mean mugs from a distance, as Elena puts her hand on Stefan's.]

Them being friends is a reason to spend more time together and more time together means they will fall in love with each other all over again and the sire-bond will still be there because nothing can break them up. NOTHING oh and everyone on the show, Stefan, Elena, Caroline, Matt, Tyler, Klaus, Bonnie, Jeremy, Lexi, Jenna, and Alaric so basically everyone except Damon and Rebekah, ship them together so ya

I’m reading ideas about how Damon and Elena would never work once she turns human and he stays vampire.. What is the chance of Elena taking the cure, turning human, and then somehow being bitten and turned again? That may be too far of a stretch though, but something to think about nevertheless…

Stefan and Elena will never just be freinds….it is rediculous. I love Damon/Elena too….but we all know in the end the love between Stefan and Elena is what she wants. Now why Stefan and Damon are not fighting over Rebekah is the real questions. She is twice the woman/vampire that Elena is. I can’t stand Elean anymore. She is the Kelly Taylore of Vampire Diaries.

So Elena and Stefan are reconnecting as friends, great so how is Damon going to take the news? Face it ppl Damon’s character is an insecure obsessive compulsive and the focus is Elena. Damons gona blow because this is going to feed his insecurity about Elena’s true feelings – big time. Vampelena will have to profess her love, justify interactions with Stefan, and be push away at the same time. Don’t know many women that would sail that boat very long.
Last week damon gave up his only shot at a long term relationship with Elena ; when he dumped on her human offer. Vamp / human doesn’t work Damon said it himself. So Vamp/Vamp could work if the SB stays in place, because he could fix any problems personally and mold Elena into the woman he wants. Vamp/Vamp with no SB (considering there’s a way) will work short term if indeed her feelings towards Damon are real, but not for eternity. There are no monogamous Vamp relationships! The longest in the series was Finn/Sage, and he spent most of the time in the box – Sage was the polar opposite of monogamous but did love Finn.
Delena has no possibility of children to hold the relationship together during rough patches. Damon’s bedded half the town; probably in every town he’s been in, now it eternity with one woman. right! Elena as an unsired vamp will eventually take what she wants – when she wants, and her love for Damon will become just like Katherine’s love for Stefan – No 1 on the hit list but singing “love the one your with” My advice for Damon – forget the SB and what others think, tap it now cause your doomed to loose it anyway or make the sacrifice and go human and take the leap.

I think Elena will find out something about the cure that will make her not want to take it…or anyone for that matter, Someone will be forced to take it and it will probably be Damon. Elena will have to show her love for him for him to believe…words are just words to him. He had to hear endless bull from Katherine and find none of it real so yeah..it’s hard for him to believe someone will choose him no matter what. And Damon deserves a happy ending..even if it’s not with Elena. I just can’t wait to see what happens because the writers will have to have a good ending for him. He is the reason a lot of people watch the show Elena or no Elena. He needs to be happy by the time the show ends.Stefan also needs to be happy but I think Stefan is further away from happiness than Damon..Stefan is just tooo emotional. He doesnt know how to handle anything properly.

So now we see the “sensitive” Stefan, and I suppose everyone is just going to forget how hurtful he was just a few episodes ago. Of course they are, because somehow TVD manages to brainwash the fans into thinking that Stefan deserves happiness because he hates being a vampire and because he is just so good at doing a heart to heart. Well this is one TVD fan that isn’t buying it. Stefan says the most hurtful and emotionally abusive things on the show. He is a liar with a dual personality. He plays the martyr so well and in the meantime he bad mouths his brother every chance he gets. How Elena can so quickly and easily forgive him is unbelievable to me. Here she is being friendly with him instead of looking for Damon! When will this girl actually give a damn about Damon?! I mean, he walks away and she doesn’t go looking for him?? I thought she was sired to Damon? Doesn’t that mean she lives to make him happy? Oh, that’s right, only use the sire bond when you want to keep them apart, and otherwise forget it entirely writers. And now we see the next day she’s being friendly and touchy with Stefan while Damon is being tortured, WTF writers?! Doesn’t anyone else get sick and tired of seeing Damon being stabbed, shot and tortured while Stefan pours his heart out? UGH.

I personally think Stefan and Elena will start off as friends and once she’s cured they are gonna start to become more then friends since the sire bond will allow Elena not to worry about always being loyal to Damon. Leaving Damon and Rebekah together.

I thought the cure was for immortality. If you take the cure you become human aka mortal. Jeremy is a vampire hunter but he isnt immortal so the cure wouldnt have an affect on him

Watch, Rebbeka is going to run straight to Damon and tell him that Elena and Stefan are doing hanky panky together and now she is going to start treating Stefan really mean. It would really show Damon that Elena loves him is she decides not to take the infamous cure if he doesn.

Yeah you’re probably right. Why not everyone else keeps reinforcing his fears? Frankly I can’t help but feel like the writers are intentionally doing this so that the fans will think the same thing Bex thinks. I too hope Elena choses to stay a vampire for various reasons one of which to spend eternity with Damon. That kind of commitment is something he was willing to do for Katherine but would never fathom someone would do for him.
