All three of the network’s hit dramas will return for the 2013-2014 TV season.
Christmas has come early — or late, depending on how you read your calendar — for CW junkies, as the network has officially renewed The Vampire Diaries, Arrow and Supernatural for additional seasons!
The CW announced Feb. 11 that The Vampire Diaries will be returning for its fifth season, while Arrow is being renewed for a second, and Supernatural — the network’s longest-running scripted series — will be airing its ninth.
“We said last year that one of our goals was to establish building blocks to grow on, and now with our new hit Arrow and fan-favorite Supernatural on Wednesday night, and the continued success of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday, we’ve been able to do that,” says CW President Mark Pedowitz. Not only do Arrow, Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries perform well on-air, they’re also extremely successful for us both digitally and socially. I’m thrilled to have all three shows returning to our schedule next season.”
Let’s Talk Ratings!
According to The CW, Arrow is its most-watched series, averaging 4.3 million viewers every week. And The Vampire Diaries the network’s most socially successful series, as it was recently named Trendrr’s No. 1 social TV program.
Supernatural is also a very good, enjoyable program.
What About All The Other Shows?!
No word yet on the fates of our other CW faves — 90210, The Carrie Diaries, Hart of Dixie, Beauty & The Beast and Nikita — but we’ll be keeping our ear out for the latest updates!

Glad to hear Arrow and Supernatural are returning… Now, if only Nikita will also be back, I’ll be a happy camper.
