Watch this chilling new teaser for the HBO drama’s third season, premiering March 31!
Do you hate Petyr Baelish? Well, too bad, because his creepy little voice dominates the brand-new promo for Game Of Thrones‘ third season. Along with shots of returning characters — Daenrys (Emilia Clarke) and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), to name just a few — the “master of coin” yammers on about “the climb.”
“Chaos isn’t a pit; chaos is a ladder,” he says. “Many who try to climb it fail, and never get to try again. The fall breaks them. Some are given a chance to climb. They cling to the realm, or the gods, or love. Only the ladder is real; the climb is all there is.”
(I know what you’re thinking: Miley Cyrus already told us all about the climb, right? Wrong!)
Hidden Clues In The ‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 Teaser
Just to be clear, I’m not an avid reader of the book series, so I’m going into season three with no knowledge of what’s ahead. To that end, let’s see how the characters in the trailer sync up with Mr. Baelish’s unsettling words and make some predictions!
“Many who try to climb it fail…” — Joffrey (Jack Gleeson)
Hopefully this means we’ll be rid of this little turd by season’s end.
“…and never get to try again” — The Hound (Rory McCann)
Sad for The Hound. He deserves better.
“The fall breaks them.” — Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau)
He already seemed pretty broken last season. How could things get worse?
“Some are given a chance to climb.” — Arya (Maisie Williams)
I’m pretty sure even Stevie Wonder sees big things in this girl’s future.
“…or the gods…” — Catelyn (Michelle Fairley)
Catelyn sure loves her gods.
“…or love…” — John (Kit Harington)
That Ygritte chick is going to be his downfall.
HollywoodLifers, what are your predictions for season three? Watch the new video below, then drop a comment! (And be kind to those who haven’t read the books. Don’t give anything major away!)
