Chris Brown Gives Rihanna Standing Ovation At Grammys

Sun, February 10, 2013 9:55pm EDT by 63 Comments

Rihanna gave a heartwarming performance of ‘Stay’ in front of Chris Brown at the Grammys on Feb. 10. And the song is no doubt meant for him!

Rihanna hit the stage without Chris Brown on Sunday night, Feb. 10, at the 2013 Grammys, but it was still amazing! Her performance of “Stay” was gorgeously simple and had us on our knees!

Rihanna’s Tender Performance of ‘Stay’

Rihanna’s slow, intimate rendition of “Stay” with Mikky Ekko was tender and beautiful — an amazing addition to her repertoire, which usually features tenacity and fierceness.

With the stage decorated simply and starkly, the “Diamonds” singer stunned and put on an understatedly sexy show.

Rihanna’s night was an all-around success. Not only was her performance incredible, she also took home a Grammy Award for the Best Short Form Music Video, for “We Found Love.”

Rihanna & Chris Brown At The Grammys

Though the two did sit together at the show, Rihanna and Chris Brown didn’t perform together like the rumors hinted at. There was a ton of anticipation about the two teaming up on stage – we were definitely looking forward to it. Before the show, a source close to Rihanna told HollywoodLife.com exclusively that Rihanna “was leaning towards ‘Nobody’s Business’ weeks ago and wanted Chris to bust out with her on stage,” though the source also added, “I don’t know if she thought the power that be would let that happen.”

So RiRi definitely decided to go in a different direction, though it’s unclear if the Grammys and CBS wouldn’t let Chris join his girl on stage (but he did give his GF a standing O after her performance).

But she didn’t need him – her performance was on fire!

Rihanna of course has a tumultuous Grammys past – four years ago, Chris Brown infamously assaulted her after a Grammys pre-party – but we’re happy to see that she’s strong enough to get through it and that she looks better than ever.

Absolutely amazing performance by RIH got to LOVE her. Beyonce looked amazing, RIH as usual DROPDEAD GORGEOUS, Ashanti also looked beautiful. Forget about Katy Perry she wore the hell out of that dress banging body and of course Kelly Rowland another banging body in a beautiful dress. Best performance was the tribute to Bob Marley. #RIP to the HONORABLE ROBERT NESTA MARLEY and of course another reggae legend my uncle GREGORY ISAACS BIG UP JAMAICA!!! With that being said I only have one question how can the GRAMMYS be so disappointing every year??? They consistently give awards to artists that the majority of the public knows absolutely nothing about do I detect a tad bit of RACISM. IMO Also did any one peep the major shade Jay-Z gave Frank Ocean, I even forgot Frank Ocean’s performance absolutely boring #NO SHADE. Alicia Keys and the sexiest white man alive Adam levine(MAROON 5) another stellar performance, what the hell was Adele wearing? JT wasn’t too bad his performance showed growth as an artist. To sum it all up most of the performances were excellent and it was good to see CB and RIH in the front row rocking their valentine’s colors. #1LOVE.

Sandra, Now we all knew that Frank Ocean was going to win something…I wonder why? LOL. Kelly looked fab and of course so did Bey. Katy had it going on…wow. Alicia…humm ok. No shade towards Adam Levine…Adele…Ok..moving on Ashanti…she always wears stuff like that…She looks good but kind of boring. Last but not least, Rihanna. I loved the dress, but aboulutely hated the hair. Hated it. Pixie cut is the way to go with her. Chris looked nice. White suit was a good choice for him. He can wear that. No real shade at the two of them. I will say that She looks happy, he looks….oh well you can’t have everything…..

The only reason I watched the grammys was to see Chris and Rihanna. They are a very beautiful couple together. When they get married in about five to eight years they will have very beautiful tall children. I love to see them so happy and I love Rihanna’s vocals on “Stay” and Chris Brown is the “best” dancer in the WORLD. May Chris and Rihanna continue to grow together and blossom and may God continue to bless them both!

Hollywood Life is the only place on the web where Chris Brown gets any positive comments at all. Most all of the others call him out as the woman beating loser he is. Iḿ so glad that all of the people he has picked fights with ¨beat¨ him last night at the Grammys.

I don’t care abt what pple say abt Rihanna & Chris. I appluad Ri for forgiving Chris and that’s what God expect from us because He forgave us. I’m not condoning domestic violence but I believe everybody deserves a second chance. Chris Brown is also human, he made a mistake & paid for it. Pple should move on & leave these 2 alone.

I watched the show mainly to watch the rumoured performance between Riri and Breezy, I’m heavily disappointed that didnt happen. The Grammy people probably didnt wanna allow it to happen. Lame.

Rihanna’s vocals were amazing. It was a beautiful performance without all the special effects that other performers needed. Rihanna was the highlight of the night and it was nice to see Chris there to support her.

Rih stole the show no one else compared. It was nice to see both looking good and happy. Let’s keep the negativity out of the story it’s childish and I think everyone knows what happened four years ago, not necessary to bring up day after day after day after day after day……..see how tired you got reading that?

Stay is a slow song…she didn’t do a “slow rendition” of it. she did the same version she always does. HL is it possible for you to let it go? Really, must you end EVERY freakin article about these two together with what happened 4 FREAKIN’ YEARS AGO!!!! You just have to add a little negativity every time. Why? To add mess? to cause strife amongst the posters? Grow up!!!
