Being a mommy always comes first — no matter what! Katie had to skip out on the New York Fashion Week festivities when her daughter Suri’s school closed early because of the winter weather. What a hands-on mom!
New York Fashion Week, which began on Feb. 7, is powering through the blizzard called Nemo that is torturing the whole Northeast. But elementary schools aren’t so tough, as Katie Holmes discovered on the morning of Feb. 8!
Katie Holmes Skips the Runway For Suri
Katie decided to skip a fashion presentation and personally pick her daughter, Suri, 6, from school, which closed very early because of the approaching storm in New York City.
Aww! We love that Katie has decided to be a mother first, and a celebrity second. It’s amazing that she just dropped everything for her adorable daughter.
It’s almost shocking, really — that Katie didn’t have a nanny or an assistant just escort Suri home, like we imagine most celebs might! The personal attention Katie is devoting to Suri is truly admirable.
Katie Holmes’ Clothing Line Holmes & Yang
This morning Katie was coming off of a great night — on Feb. 7, she presented her own line, Holmes & Yang at an intimate showing in a New York City hotel suite. Katie and her partner, Jeanne Yang, actually attribute the line’s inspiration to their experiences as mothers (Jeanne is a mother to twin girls).
Explaining that their clientele are women who need versatile clothing, Jeanne told People, “Our customer is somebody who wants to be comfortable. ou want to look good, but Katie and I always talk about this, it should never come at the cost of comfort.”
Katie’s definitely living a double-life — part celeb, part mom — and you know what? She does look pretty great doing it.

I got to say she is a awesome mother!!! alawys with her daughter and showing her the right way of living! not a spoil,rotten kid!! She is a REAL MOTHER!!! she could make money out of her too if she wanted too but her family is number one instead of the money YEAH KATIE!!! you show some of this ugly mothers how to take care of your of their own child!!! MOTHER OF THE YEAR and to the one’s like her!!!
