I hope you enjoyed Damon (Ian Somerhalder) sucker punching Stefan (Paul Wesley) on last week’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, because there’s a whole lot more Salvatore-on-Salvatore action coming our way! This new photo from the show’s Feb. 21 episode, ironically titled “Stand By Me,” finds the brothers facing off yet again — and in a cave, no less.
So what has the brooding bros so heated? Perhaps the answer lies in the spoilers I recently posted from the episode.
My first thought is, given how Elena (Nina Dobrev) returns to Mystic Falls in an altered “state of mind,” that Stefan and Damon are butting heads over the best way to handle her. And let’s face it, aren’t most of the boys’ headaches caused by Mystic Falls’ favorite doppelganger?
It’s also possible the brothers’ scuffle stems from the “somber” news Damon relays to Rebekah (Claire Holt). She is, after all, Stefan’s new — well, new again — squeeze.
Either way, the Salvatores being at each other’s throats can’t be a good thing, especially now that loyalty is more important than ever. With the cure on the line, I want to see less throwing down and more bro-ing down. (“Bro-ing down” a thing, right? Oh well, it is now.)

is not a figth ! seems to be a brobunding time ! but to me seems very changed Damon in this picture ! like hi is human … MY GOOD !!! NO !

It looks as if Stefan is screwing with Damon’s self-esteem again trying to prove a point, which is normally a selfish one on his behalf but we’ll just have to see waht the conversation is really about when the episode airs.

They say a picture is worth a thousand word but that isnt true with tvd! I have learned things are not always what it seems. We won’t truely know what is going on until the ep airs. They are all worried about elena and she comes up with a plan. But a plan for what?? There may not be a cure. Maybe shane just wanted to raise silas,hence the “moonstone”!

The picture doesn’t look as though they are fighting. In fact it looks as though Stefan is extending his hand to Damon perhaps as a truce.

Elena takes the cure. Post cure she doesn’t remember a thing about being a vampire. Done. That’s why she reaches out to friends afterwards. That’s why she’s riding her diary with Matt afterwards. That’s why Damon looks like someone just peed in his soup and gets left on the island to deal with Rebekah. And last but certainly not least…that’s why Elena goes HOME with Stefan. Boom. Done.

What’s with the picture of Damon and Stefan. Whoever did Ian’s make up (too much eye liner and powder) made him look so different he looks like that dude from pretty little liars. I heard that the new thing is camermen using different lenses and lighting.’t Seriously that picture of Ian is messed up. I can’t even look at the other pictures.

Agreed! Ian/Damon looks so young…innocent maybe. I didnt want him or elena to take the supposed cure, but now it looks like the hunter may have forced him to take it. He looks so young…
