This designer behind Ed Hardy is back with a whole new line — and a whole new direction!
Fashion designer Christian Audigier, 54, is best known for his clothing line, Ed Hardy, that featured an array of skulls and roses with his popular slogan, “Love Kills Slowly,” which we often saw stretched across the chests of the Jersey Shore cast. While we thought the designer had taken a break from fashion he’s getting ready to mark his return with a whole new label, Lord Baltimore. While he officially launched the brand in May 2012, it wasn’t until One Direction members Niall Horan and Zayn Malik showed it off that we took notice.
One Directioners, Niall Horan, 19, Liam Payne,18, Harry Styles,19, Zayn Malik,20 and Louis Tomlinson,22, have agreed to be the first to sport the new look. The boy band was invited into Audigier’s studio to show off the collection, and they sported it both on and off the stage. Could we expect to see a formal collaboration soon? While we have yet to hear about the boy band teaming up with the designer, they certainly look excited to be showing off the graphic tees. The collection captures the essence of Audigier’s affinity for graphic tees, however, Lord Baltimore explores bright, vibrant colors and new graphics that we didn’t see in the initial Ed Hardy line. For those of you who wore a fan of the Ed Hardy hats, don’t fret! The new line will also include hats.
What do you think of the Audigier revival? Are you glad he’s gracing us with his graphic tees once again or do you wish he took his line in a completely different, um, direction?
