Samsung Galaxy celebrated the biggest sporting event of the year with a VIP event on February 2 in the historic Garden District of New Orleans featuring a special musical performance by Academy Award winner Jamie Foxx. Foxx performed an intimate 45-minute concert with a surprise duet with Jennifer Hudson. Songs were both his originals, as well as Ray Charles covers.
Jamie Foxx, Kellan Lutz (Twilight), Jennifer Hudson, Kate Walsh (“Private Practice”) Olivia Munn (“The Newsroom”), Flo Rida (singer, rapper), Holly Robinson Peete, John Besh (chef, TV personality, philanthropist, restaurateur and cookbook author), and many more made the Samsung Shangri-La one of the most talked about events of the big weekend.
Los Angeles-based DJ Michelle Pesce started the party by mixing the flavor of hip hop with rock, funk and pop while keeping an old school vibe at an historic New Orleans Garden District home owned by photographer Paul Costello and style consultant and writer Sara Ruffin Costello.
New Orleans-based Preservation Hall Jazz Band also performed a lively set of timeless New Orleans jazz classics.
New Orleans-based chef, John Besh served up a menu of passed locally inspired appetizers and desserts. The space also featured an S Gallery with photography of New Orleans by Paul Costello. Guests competed in tournament-style ping pong games where players kept track of scores on the leader board using Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 devices. There was also an S-Beam Bourbon bar with New Orleans-inspired cocktails for guests to enjoy by ordering with Samsung Galaxy Note II devices.
