Beyonce attended a press conference on Jan. 31, where she addressed her lip-synching scandal by showing that she CAN sing the National Anthem live! What did you think of Beyonce’s performance? Watch the video here!
Beyonce appeared at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans on Thursday, Jan. 31, taking part in a press conference to promote her half-time Super Bowl XLVII performance. While the pop star probably preferred the attention to be placed on her upcoming performance on Feb. 3, Beyonce addressed her presidential inauguration performance on Jan. 21, where she was chastised for lip-syncing the National Anthem. Beyonce sang the National Anthem live this time, a capella, and ended it the SAME way she did on Jan. 21. At the close of the song, Beyonce said, “Any questions?” She killed it!
Beyonce Admits Lip Syncing At The Presidential Inauguration
Beyonce, 31, said, “Well, I am a perfectionist. And one thing about it is that I practice until my feet bleed. I did not have time to practice with the orchestra. Due to the weather, I did not feel comfortable taking a risk. I decided to sing along with my recorded track, which is a common practice in the industry. It was one of my proudest moments. I am very proud of my performance.”
Will Beyonce’s Super Bowl Performance Be Prerecorded?
Will she sing live at the Super Bowl? “I will absolutely be singing live. I am well-rehearsed. This is what I was born to do. I’ve had a 16 year career and all of the things I’ve done has prepared me for this. It is nerve wracking and it is something that we’ve been preparing for about four or five months. So of course I’m nervous and I think when I was driving up I got chills because I saw the superdome. It’s the one thing when I’m no longer here, it’s what they’re going to show. And it’s something I’m so honored to be doing when I’m 31-years-old. I’m trying to learn to live in every moment because these moments are not promised to us. This is a special opportunity. I take it very serious so – I’m excited.”
The press conference was planned so that Beyonce could discuss her highly anticipated half-time show and her upcoming HBO documentary, Life Is But a Dream, The Associated Press reports, but naturally Beyonce was asked questions about her lip synching scandal.
While Beyonce kept mum on the subject until now, she certainly didn’t stay out of the spotlight. Queen B posted a multitude of photos on her Tumblr account, showcasing herself practicing for the half-time show.
B Talks About Her Documentary
“I’m very nervous. It was really interesting directing and editing myself and seeing all the mistakes I’ve made and still putting it in the film and seeing life as if it wasn’t me. And I feel like its time for people to really get to know me and see a different side.”
Beyonce Talks About Daughter Blue Ivy
“Oh my god. I feel like my daughter has changed me and changed my life and has given me so much purpose. I feel like this movie is very necessary and I think it shows a human side – we’re all human. And I feel like at some point my job is to protect her and I’m happy I can tell my story on my terms.”
A Destiny’s Child Reunion At Super Bowl 2013?
Beyonce was also asked whether or not Destiny’s Child would reunite at the big game on Sunday, Feb. 3.
“I don’t know. I can’t really give you any details. I’m sorry, ” Beyonce said, acting coy. When further pushed and asked if we’d hear from the girls, Beyonce reminded the crowd about their recent release of “Nuclear.” Is that a hint they’ll perform the song together?
“The Super Bowl is meant to be a reflection of your entire career, where you came from and where you are going,” a source close to the singer told HollywoodLife.com exclusively. “For Beyoncé, she wants to show the best in herself and what she still has to offer with the element of the past leading to the future.”
Going Back On Tour?
“I would say soon. And I may have an announcement after the performance and the fans should stay tuned to see. This has been an aspiration for me. Thank god that I’m given this opportunity. You work very hard for these moments and I’m hoping that all of my life lessons and experiences — I can feel and use during this performance.”

She will be in the history books for making history. Her reason for lip synching was to make proud the President and country. I hope she will not lip-synch or sing along a pre-recorded “Happy Birthday” to Mr. President. Or she can learn to sing live from Marilyn Monroe.
