Selena Gomez — a source has told us exclusively at HollywoodLife.com that you want to flirt with “as many hot guys” as you can right now and go on “tons of dates” to forget about Justin Bieber.

Listen Selena, we can totally understand that sentiment. You’re hurting right now and you will be for awhile. You dated Justin for two years and it was a very committed and serious romance.

You and Justin, now 18, were very devoted to each other and survived a lot of separations until you felt like he let you down.

You thought he cheated on you with Victoria’s Secret model Barbara Palvin, according to reports, and you seemed to be saying that yourself when you pointedly sang Justin Timberlake’s hit, “Cry Me a River” at your UNICEF concert in NYC, on Sep. 19.

The song is infamously about Justin Timberlake’s painful split from Britney Spears after she cheated on him.

Now your plan is to get over Justin by finding “a good guy, ” explains the source.

The Downsides of ‘Revenge Dating’

But I’m giving you a little cautionary advice about dating “tons of guys.” Selena, you’re used to having a meaningful relationship, not dealing with guys who could be dating you because you’re well, Selena Gomez, or who are boring and conceited, or who just have nothing in common with you.

Dating is only fun if you actually like and are interested in the guys you are dating. Otherwise, it’s just a chore, no matter how gorgeous or sexy a guy might be on the surface.

Dating “tons of guys” sounds more exciting than it actually is — I can guarantee you! In the best case ,it just gets boring, and in the worst case it can make you feel even more lonely or used, and it can make you miss your ex even more than before — exactly the opposite of what you want to have happen.

In other words Selena — your plan to ‘revenge date ‘after your Justin Bieber split can totally backfire!

It can actually make you feel less self-confident about yourself and your decision to split ,and can lead to more heartache.

Why It’s Best To Wait And Date Selectively

To avoid that, Selena, it’s better to take your time and wait until you meet a guy you really like or are interested in, and then date him.

Dating volume can’t mend your heart if it only leads to emptiness and not friendship or real romance.

It’s great that you’re feeling “hot as hell,” as a source told us. You ARE “hot as hell” and a terrific, talented, and thoughtful person to boot.

But don’t waste all that “hotness” on a ton of unworthy guys. Even though you’re hurting and anxious to move on from Justin, it’s better to hold on a bit and wait to have “real” and heartfelt dates — not ‘revenge dates’!

And you know what? You can’t worry about what Justin is doing, even if you hear that he is seeing other girls. It doesn’t mean that he’s not hurting too, and he could be having a lousy time when he’s out with those girls — and just wishing that he was with you!
