Lena Dunham Disses Chris Brown & Rihanna’s Relationship

Lena is making it known that she does not approve of Rihanna’s tumultuous relationship with Chris in a new interview! Did she cross the line?

As fans of the HBO show Girls know, star and creator Lena Dunham has plenty of opinions — and she isn’t afraid of sharing them. In a new interview with Alec Baldwin on his podcast, the 26-year-old actress revealed her considerable disdain for one of Hollywood’s most notorious relationships: Rihanna and Chris Brown!

When Alec interviewed Lena on his podcast “Here’s the Thing,” she explained that she “used to be really into” the pop princess, but her feelings for her turned sour once she reconciled with Chris.

Lena Dunham Wishes Rihanna Took Being A Role Model Seriously

“[Being a role model] is amazing. It’s an amazing thing and it’s like, it’s a platform that you have to take seriously,” Lena said. “Which is why sometimes it’s like I used to be really into Rihanna, that pop star, and then it’s like again, I don’t want to ever throw stones from my glass house, but I follow her on Instagram and I just think about how many little girls beyond what I could even comprehend are obsessed with Rihanna. Like you know, she left Barbados, she’s had this amazing career, she’s won a Grammy.”

“She’s talented. And then she gets back together with Chris Brown and posts a million pictures of them smoking marijuana together on a bed. And it cracks my heart in half in a way that makes me feel like I’m 95 years old,” the recent Golden Globe winner concluded.

Rihanna Doesn’t Want To Be A Role Model

Rihanna has repeatedly gone on record stating that she has no desire to be a role model to her fans, regardless of whether she is one or not. In 2011, she told Ellen DeGeneres, “I used to worry about it a lot, then I realized the message I really want to send is not perfection it’s individuality. Being who you really are, knowing who you really are and being just that. There’s only one of you so just be that.”

So let me get this straight… if anyone speaks out against RIRI and her behavior then they are jealous……..are you fu*King serious. You guys really believe that if alllllll the hundreds of people who comment against RIRI’s behavior is jealous of her…………..The my intuition about RIRI being jealous of KAE has been right on target cause she has pulled a million stunts directed at her, and got all her fans trashing her too!!! Thankyou for clearing that up!!!!RIRI is beautiful, business smart, and has a fierce sense of style, but she also has low self-esteem, a lack of self-love, and allows a man who beat her face with a brick to dictate her emotions from day to day….4 years after the attack!!!!!!!

Rihoeanna Stan’s cut the *ull as its a well know fact that young people grow up idolising the images they see of their pop idols no mater how good a parent you are.
Jeez how many kids out their end up doing the exact opposite to what they were raised to do PLENTY!
Rihoeanna took on that role as being a role model when she decided that she wanted fame

Rihanna has said before that she’s nobody’s role model. She never claimed to be….Since when did white women look to black women and men as their kids role models? The crack in this womans heart may be from being obese and the clogging of her arteries. She should be a role model for young women that are overweight and start the Jenny Craig diet…arterial plaque is the number one heart killer in the USA for women. Instead Ms. Dunham is worried about pop stars personal lives…Why isn’t she worried about Lindsay Lohan? Is Ms. Lohan living up to her opinion of a role model?

Who is this girl?? I don’t know why people expect CELEBS to be role models, I thought that’s what parents are for. As a parent you should be monitoring your children internet usage but I notice a lot of parents allow their children to have FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM etc without checking what they are posting or looking at then they blame the CELEBS. Why is everyone sooo upset that this young lady gave her opinion about RIRI and her situation. (she was right by the way). It s okay for her stans to not only voice their opinion, but cyber bully, degrade, humiliate, and disrespect others who DARE get in RIRI’s light, but you stans can say what ever the fu*K you want to uphold your idol. I’ve read hundreds of comments on various blogs for months now where her fans have not only have attack KAe to no end, but anyone else who comes forward with a story, or a tie to Chris Brown. RIRI may not want the role model title, but she has it anyway. It comes with the business. If you want to be an international performer, be on TV, in magazines, and grace billboards, AND collect millions of dollars, then your going to get the label of role model. Hunny chile, PARENTS are a child’s role model. This nonsense about star being role model is crap. My 4 and 8 yr old nieces love Rihanna and they have no behavioral problems. None of them walk around half naked or try to emulate her mannerisms. And this is because they have me as fully clothed individual, who is intelligent enough to tell them hey ” be you and no body else”" you can be hardworking LIKE Rihanna and pursue ur dreams LIKE her. LIKE being the operative word here.

As soon as you want ur child to have a role model other than you, then you in for MAJOR problems, when they don’t listen to anything you say

Being a role model does not come with the industry. She is paid to entertain not to be a role model. Anyone who sees an entertainer as a role model def doesn’t have intact parental structure at home. I have never looked at an entertainer as a role model in my life. I have an extremely strong family filled with a bunch of professionals(lawyers,doctors etc.) to be my role model not an entertainer. Maybe that’s why you bash RIH because you lack that family structure in your home and expect her to raise you and your children. GO GET YO LIFE!!!

maybe Lena Dunham should watch Oprah’s interview with Rihanna and see what Rihanna had to say about their relationship.
People who don’t follow the artist and what they do in their day to day life but still feel the need to comment like they know everything about them disgust me.

Why does everyone feel the need to voice what they think Rihanna should do. Why is it such a bad thing to forgive and give someone a second chance? I think she’s made up her mind and doesnt care if her career suffers for this.She cant always live for the public she has her own self to worry about. Not afraid to forgive (no shame neither) as shame she never thought about that before she decided to go on national tv and try and blame the whole incident on Chris,then states she’s ending the relationship due to she knows she has alot of young admires that look up to her and she does not want them thinking DV(domestic violence) is ok.
But then 3 yrs later she’s back (and to hell with her young followers)now crying yet again on national tv how CB is the love of her life

Clearly you read only half of any article. She did indeed say this and it was probably where she was emotionally at the time. Me personally, she had the interview too early, for to have her self sorted out enough to answer questions. However, the only constant in life is CHANGE, and she have changed. She said as much, when she admitted that she use to think about being a role model, until she realised she had to live for her.

I think this attitude is an excellent one. If you the average person try to live for everyone who knows you and believe they have a right ro a say in everything you do, you will be utterly MISERABLE. So how do you think celebs -those focal point in their actions are what the fans will think- get miserable and unhappy and hooked on toxicity ( drugs, plastic surgery, courting bad press)
