HollywoodLife.com exclusively confirmed that Beyonce was lip syncing during the National Anthem on Jan. 21 at President Obama’s Inauguration and our Editor-in-Chief Bonnie Fuller and Senior Reporter Chloe Melas have a heated debate as to why she did it and if it was a bad idea!
Beyonce sounded great at the Inauguration but it was a recording! HollywoodLife.com spoke with Kristin DuBois, the Public Affairs Chief for the Marine Band following her big performance and they confirmed what many were speculating, she was lip syncing. Bonnie Fuller doesn’t see a problem with this, but Chloe Melas is appalled. Watch the video and tell us whose side you’re on!
Beyonce’s Inauguration Performance: How It All Went Down
Beyonce took the stage in front of President Obama, and millions of viewers to sing the National Anthem. The United States Marine Band, who accompanied her, tell HollywoodLife.com that moments before she took the stage, Beyonce decided to go with the pre-recorded track.
“We don’t at all we know why she decided to go with the pre-recorded music,” Kristin DuBois, the Public Affairs Chief told us. “All music [for the Inauguration] is pre-recorded as a matter of course. The Marine Band performed live and we received word at the last minute. Colonel Colborne and Officer Perry were standing right there, and I’m not sure who they were in contact with, but Perry gave the word to go with the pre-recorded track at the last minute. I can say that what is common is every four years someone wants to say someone is lip syncing, and four years ago it was Yo Yo Ma. He even admitted it and said well yes, it was 25 degrees, a cello can’t make a sound in those conditions. It’s not because she couldn’t sing, something had to have happened that prevented her from doing that. Kelly Clarkson did sing live and the band accompanied her. James Taylor … I don’t know. We are speaking on our behalf. We don’t know why she did it and all we know is what happened. Our role was to perform the National Anthem.”

The marine corp band also used a precorded track.
The fact is Beyonces voice is her instrument, her tool.
She was protecting her money maker cause once that’s gone, that’s it.
She obviously has no other talent.. I.e. goldmember and her makeup commercials.
When ur making millions per song, you do everything you can to make that money train last.
The haters out there obviously don’t live in places where it gwts below freezing. I’m from Wisconsin. . Its hard to talk in the cold, let alone sing. Once that cold hits ur throat, it hurts.
The Marine Corp was protecting their reputation and image by using a recording, why not beyonce?
Props to Kelly Clarkson for singing live and making the right choice for her. Beyonce made the right choice for herself as well.
Haters stop hating. When u have a multi million dollar voice, you can judge.

Pretty disappointing that SO MANY OTHER singers that ahem… SING…. would have rocked it!
You have one job…. to sing a song… no one is asking you to write a documentary about yourself, directed by yourself about how you like to… SING…. so… sing right? I mean technically she practically paid Obama to get herself in a position to be invited to sing, that’s what happens when you give someone 4 millions dollars to put them in office… just saying… but “I struggle with how much of myself to reveal”… you must REALLY be struggling! p.s. yes, whitney lip synced so it must be ok…. but whitney also smoked crack…
Whatever

BeyonPhony… Its for the the President. our Country. To Lipsync?? Why? Not cool to fake that :( Why not just mail in a CD wrapped in fake hair extensions? Thats Beyonce… has she ever even sang live? Who knows, right? Any studio can make anyone sound good. Maybe shes just fake vocals, fake hair… JUST FAKE!!!

Some people are so pitiful. You take one simple thing and run with it. She has sang a cappella on numerous occasions. So get your facts straight before you question the woman’s talents (HATER)! Did it ever dawn on you that maybe she prerecorded it just in case something happened (e.g. sore throat, cold, etc.) and didn’t want to mess up the song on such a special occasion? Stop judging other people and take a look at your own short comings. Everybody has them. If you think she is fake, then don’t support her. Plain and simple.

FAKE IS FAKE–NOT A TRUE ARTIST-IF YOU CANT SING LIVE–STAY IN THE STUDIO WITH THE OTHER MACHINES—IF YOU ARE TO SING LIVE THEN DO SO–DONT GIVE US FAKE LIP SMACKING—-MAKING MILLIONS BY CHEATING AND STEALING—IS SHE EVEN REAL–IS THERE ACTUALLY A PERSON OR SHE JUST A MACHINE WALKING AROUND—

Beyonce is an amazing performer and has an amazing voice. Go watch her concerts if you don’t believe. Its awesome that Kelly sung live and she did awesome but Idk why it bothers anyone that she she choose to lip snyc to a recording of her OWN VOICE prob recorded the day before. She prob didnt wanna ruin the amazing moment of the inauguration by her voice cracking cuz the cold . But yall know she can sing. Youre just being haters. And ot the person who said her hair was fake. EVERY person in the industry wears fake hair at some point. And I’m sure your girl Kelly had some too.

It was wrong to lip sing. It was a disgrace to the nation and to the President. Deceiving the public isn’t a good thing to do. As a professional, I was appalled. If you’re a performer, you perform. If you can’t do it live – then don’t take the gig.
