On the Jan. 21 episode of ‘The Carrie Diaries,’ Carrie does whatever it takes to make sure her relationship with Sebastian is all good — even if she has to betray her little sister in the process.

On the second episode of The Carrie Diaries, “Lie With Me,” Carrie’s (AnnaSophia Robb) honesty is tested. Plus, her newfound friend Larissa (Freema Agyeman) gives her some titillating advice — “Sometimes you have to fake it to make it. After a while, what’s fake becomes truth.”

While Carrie is grounded, Sebastian (Austin Butler) finds himself on a “date” with the resident bad girl, and Carrie’s arch nemesis Donna Ladonna (Chloe Bridges) at a country club. In reality, their families were dining together, but when Sebastian and Donna take a break and head outside together, Mouse (Ellen Wong), who happens to be at the same restaurant, misinterprets the situation and calls Carrie to tell her the bad news.

The next day, Sebastian tells Carrie the truth — they were just getting high together. Phew!

Of course, despite his confession, Mouse’s panic put doubt is Carrie’s head, so she becomes aggressive and invites Sebastian to the swim club after school. Unfortunately, it’s the same time that Carrie is supposed to hang out with her little sister Dorrit (Stefania Owen)When Dorrit finds out, she runs home upset and causes their dad Tom (Matt Letscher) to get involved, catching Carrie and Sebastian mid-makeout in the pool!

Just when you thought things couldn’t get worse, this is the first time that Tom and Sebastian meet. While Sebastians apology appears to smooth things over, it’s the admission of his last name — Kydd — that will hurt him in the long run. At home, Tom forbids Carrie from seeing Sebastian any longer. His reason? “Because I said so.”

Don’t expect Carrie to follow her dad’s rules. Later that night, Sebastian stops by, but Carrie says it was a door-to-door salesman. (It appears as though Carrie is taking Larissa’s advice. But the question is — how long can she put on the charade?)

Walt & Maggie Break Up

Walt (Brendan Dooling) and Maggie (Katie Findlay) have disagreements over sex — she wants it, but he doesn’t. This leads them to break up after Walt realizes he doesn’t care where she was during his four-hour wait outside her house. (Side note: she was hooking up with her hot cop friend!)

Carrie’s Internship Is Threatened

Carrie’s superviser catches her on a personal phone call and threatens to end her NYC internship when she arrives back to the office hours late. She was supposed to be running errands, but she was really in Dumbo with Larissa, getting her purse photographed for Interview magazine. Carrie covers her tracks with “fake confidence” and a Dior scarf!

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Carrie pursue Sebastian even though her dad forbids it? Will Walt come out of the closet now that he’s single? And will Carrie be able to maintain her internship in NYC?
