Michelle Obama Inauguration Reception Dress

The style-savvy First Lady recycled a sequin dress — and she looked fantastic!

Michelle Obama started off her second term as the fashionable First Lady in a sequin cocktail dress, stealing the show in her form-fitting frock! The glittering dress hugged her frame and the sleeveless silhouette allowed Michelle to show off one of her best assets, her toned arms, when she arrived at an inaugural reception for the 57th Presidential Inauguration at The National Building Museum on Jan. 20 in Washington, D.C. — not only did she look stunning, but she also opted to re-wear a frock that has been hanging in her closet for four years!

Michelle is so style-savvy and she loves re-wearing, so it comes as no surprise that she showed off something she has worn before for the big night. The First Lady stepped out in a sequin Michael Kors boat-neck dress — a look we first saw on Michelle back in September 2009. The first time the First Lady wore the frock, she pinned her hair back and paired the evening dress with statement chandelier earrings. This time around, however, she stepped out sparkling and showed off her brand new bangs, with her hair styled in her signature bob. A bunch of embellished bangles added the finishing touches to her ensemble.

The First Lady often shows her support for American designers, and Michael Kors is definitely one of her favorites, so it comes as no surprise that she re-wore the sequin sheath. It’s so great that she showed off a dress we’ve seen her wear before — she’s so down-to-earth! Do you think she would re-wear on Inauguration Day?

While we’ve already seen Michelle in a custom-made, checkered Thom Browne coat and dress, we are still anxiously waiting to see what look Michelle will debut for the Inaugural Ball. Will she wear one of her favorite designers or show off a new name? Regardless of what she decides to wear, there’s no denying the fact that she’ll look stunning! Do you agree?

Now that I’ve considered others’ comments I think MIchelle O. was railroaded into the awful purple gloves because of criticism that the coat was too dull for the occasion. Since she believes in trying new materials she should have stuck to her guns with her coat and bought navy gloves. There is no quick fix. Make a statement.

So you have nice shoulders, does that mean you are going to show them in the rain????? Covered shoulders give her a nice, balanced look, pleasing to see. Look at the whole picture not just shoulders. A boat neckline on the red gown would be more appropriate to the occasion. With some kind of sleeve.

That black dress is one size too form fitting for her hips. Her sequins ought to be more subdued. Going overboard on the sleeveless numbers on gowns. She’s a nice person, why not dress that way?

The first lady of the United States is not elected, has no constitutional duties and receives no salary, but that doesn’t mean the position is without its privileges – including a staff of 22 White House employees who make a combined nearly $1.5 million per year.
SHE IS A GUTTER PIG. UTTERLY USELESS AND NARCISSISTIC.

In my humble conservative opinion..she always looks like she raided her daughters closet..She does not have the style expected of the first lady of the United States of America. As for showing her arms..who cares. Is that what she considers important..geez

You lost me at “conservative.” The FLOTUS is and has always been a Modern Day Woman.. Something conservatives fail at comprehending. Her fashion is a reflection of a woman of this generation. Her style is visible even in corporate America. Sorry sweetie. The boring “conservative” style is hopefully a thing of a past; like the GOP. #Obama2012

Heidi: Mrs. Obama is an intelligent, highly educated woman who chose to marry an intelligent, highly educated man. They ended up in the White House. All previous First Ladies have had the same, and some, more amenities attached to their positions as First Lady. You sound GREEN!!

I hope you mean all the recent first ladies including Barbara & Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama when you call a gutter pig.
Or are you only referring to the black woman in that group?
