Justin Bieber — don’t take Selena’s bait. There’s no doubt that she dissed you this weekend by singing revenge songs at her UNICEF concert. But if you attack her, you’ll just look like a meanie!

Justin Bieber — hold your tongue even though you may be dying to diss Selena Gomez right back. Selena definitely sang out about her painful split from you, at her third annual Acoustic Charity Concert for UNICEF on Friday, Jan. 19.

She’s a proud UNICEF humanitarian ambassador, and she used the occasion, which was raising money for the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, to let her millions of fans know for the first time how she felt abou the split.

Before Selena launched into the Justin Timberlake song “Cry Me a River,” which you, Justin, have also sung — she let her fans know EXACTLY why she was singing it. “I have been though a lot the past few months. It’s been weird and sad and cool,” she told the crowd.

Justing Timeberlake wrote and sang the song after his painful breakup from longtime girlfriend, Britney Spears, in 2002. When he filmed the video, he used a Britney look-alike model, who dressed like Britney, including wearing her signature fedora.

Is Selena Publicly Saying That She Thought Justin Cheated?

My point is,that Justin TImberlake made it very clear that his song was written about his ex, and it pointedly made clear that he believed that Britney had cheated on him. That was the reason for the split.

Now, Selena seems to be using the song to point a finger at you Justin. Is she publicly saying that you cheated on her, possibly with Victoria’s Secret supermodel, Barbara Palvin?

Selena was very animated when she sang ,”Cry Me a River,” repeatedly touching her heart and then waving her fingers for emphasis, especially when she sang, “You don’t have to say what you did, I already know, I found out from him,” and then when she also sang, “You told me you loved me, why did you leave me, all alone.”

Why Justin Shouldn’t Get Into A Post-Breakup War With Selena

Now Justin — do not take this bait!

It’s one thing to try and get extra attention from your fans by Instagramming a photo of yourself mooning on Jan. 19 and then stripping nearly naked in concert in Nashville, on Jan. 18.

Yes, it’s a cry for attention — maybe from Selena herself, but if you were to lash out at Selena in your own revenge comments or song, honestly it would just backfire on you.

Your fans, as much as they love and support you, don’t want you to be mean to an ex! Remember most of your fans want to date you. They want to be the next Selena and they don’t want to feel that you might attack them, too!

Why Justin Must Bite His Tongue

So, as hurt as you might be by Selena’s public dissing, bite your tongue!

Bite your tongue that she also sang her BFF Taylor Swift‘s revenge anthem, “I Knew You Were Trouble,” also with lots of hand motions to her heart.

Justin — your best response is to be a gentlemen and zip your lips about it.

Even better, write a song or two or three talking about how heartbroken you are since the split. You already posted that you are “writing my heart you.”

Taking that high road, honoring your love for Selena will play best for you. It refutes the idea that you cheated without you even saying a word.

A Revenge Song Would Backfire on Justin

Revenge songs a la Taylor Swift and Katy Perry may play well for female singers, but they only make male singers like John Mayer look nasty.

Justin — you’re not a nasty guy ; you don’t want to look nasty.
