A shocking new commercial by the National Rifle Association of America accuses President Obama of being a hypocrite because his daughters are protected by armed security, but kids in schools today aren’t. Watch the controversial ad.
In a preemptive response to Barack Obama‘s proposals for stricter gun laws following the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, the NRA released a shocking new ad that calls the president an “elitist hypocrite.”
The ad was released on the morning of Jan. 16 in anticipation of Obama’s speech later that day, which called for a set of new measure to strengthen gun control laws. In the commercial, the narrator claims that since President Obama has armed security guards for his daughters — the Secret Service — kids in public schools should too. And since schools are currently gun-free zones without armed guards, it is hypocritical.
NRA Ad Attacks President Obama & His Daughters
“Are the president’s kids more important than yours?” the narrator asks.
“Then why is he skeptical about putting armed security in our schools when his kids are protected by armed guards at their schools? Mr. Obama demands the wealthy pay their fair share of taxes, but he’s just another elitist hypocrite when it comes to a fair share of security.”
Obama’s Gun Control Proposals On Jan. 16
In Obama’s speech on Jan. 16, he said, “No law will prevent every act of evil. But if there is even one life to be saved, we’ve got an obligation to try and I’m going to do my part.”
“This is our first task as a society — keeping our children safe,” he added. “To make a real and active different, Congress must act and congress must act soon.”
