The style savvy Duchess opted for a classic and affordable French Connection shirt, and you can get the same one right here! SHOP.
Kate Middleton sat for British artist Paul Emsley in 2012, who completed the first official portrait of the Duchess of Cambridge in three and a half months. The final product was then unveiled at London’s National Portrait Gallery on Jan. 10. While we don’t think the painting displays how pretty the 31-year-old Duchess really is, her wardrobe choice is very telling.
While Kate has a closet full of high-fashion frocks she could have easily worn for the occasion, instead she opted for a totally attainable shirt, which is currently available for $49.99. She may be Royalty, but she can still appreciate a great buy — and that’s just one of the many things we love about her!
For the special occasion Kate opted for a classic silk top in navy which featured a tie at the neckline. The shirt is both conservative and timeless, making it the perfect choice for the Royal! Rather than don an expensive designer item straight from the runway, Kate opted for one of her go-to brands, French Connection — and you can get her shirt right here for $49.99. The sleeveless blouse originally retailed for $118.
While Kate has worn a slew of covetable designers from the likes of Alexander McQueen to Jenny Packham, she has also be spotted shopping at stores like Zara, Topshop and French Connection. We think it’s so cool that she’s so relatable, and we obviously love her sense of style!
Personally, I don’t think the portrait really paints the best picture of the pretty Royal — but her style sense is spot on! Kate’s style savvy and down-to-earth, just like us!
