It was just a joke. Lindsay needs to putdown the bottle before she tries to call someone out about a diss. she wasn’t all boring, it was a good speech and enjoyable. I’m sure if Meryl was there she would’ve laughed.Shut-up Lohan and get your life together

Seriously, using that First Wives Club line was like a once in a lifetime opportunity. I would certainly use it, and couldn’t care less how many people misintrepret it. And Meryl would’ve been the first to laugh it off had she been present. And of course Jennifer has expressed her love and respect for Meryl countless times.
Overdramatising much?

LiLo is too stupid (or wasted) to understand that Jen’s comment was actually an honor to Streep.

I don’t like Jennifer Lawrence anymore as she’s become entirely insufferable, but she was definitely joking.

For someone who’s always talking about how she’s fat for Hollywood, she looks awfully cookie cutter in that clip.

Actually, it was a line from The First Wives Club. Bette Midler says it to Goldie Hawn about her award. Look it up, it was a joke.

That was not a line from First Wives Club Chelsea. What she did was not very nice and the audiance didn’t think so either for it got quite all of a sudden and Jennifer looked like ooops. I wonder if she would have said that if Strepp had been there but she had the flue and was absent.
I think Jennifer Lawrence is a fabulous actress but she went to far saying that about Meryl Strepp.

It definitely is a line from First Wives Club. Bette Midler’s character (Brenda) is over at Goldie Hawn’s character’s (Elise) apartment and she is holding her Oscar and says “What does it say? It says ‘I beat Meryl'”

Well even if it was no one else there knew it or acted like they knew what she was talking about. If you watched the Critics Choice Awards Thursday night she dissed Meryl Strepp then too when she won Best Actress Award. Meryl Strepp looked pissed when they showed her on camera. Jennifer Lawrence could have chosen a better joke for that one didn’t go over well with the audience or a lot of the viewers.

I watched the Critics Choice Awards on Thursday night as well and I don’t recall her even mentioning Meryl Streep in her speech. You just made that comment because of a comment that was left below. Get the facts before you reply. And I agree the joke didn’t go over well for people who didn’t know that it was from that movie, but those who knew understood it and thought it was funny. Now people who go the joke (like me) can inform those who didn’t get it and thought it was a diss.

Kristen's Evil Twin Pleasantly Shocked !!! (Grins Like Fool!!!)

Posted at 11:51 PM on January 13, 2013

First off: I, for one, agree that the DISS was very rude and VERY UNCALLED-FOR.
Jennifer lawrence GOT LUCKY being cast for The hunger Games. Can we say “Flash -in-the-pan?”
This time , next year, people will be asking who jennifer lawrence was ??
remember the movie “Juno” ? Major hit of the year. Now where is she? An unknown….
Two years from now, people will be asking about Jennifer. I USED to have respect for Jennifer, for being so young and so centered. Not anymore.
Not centered: but wants to be the center of attention.
22 and already too big for her britches.
At least LiLo had sense and balls enough to came to the fore to defend a legend. None of you know or are old enough to know a legend when you see one.
Do any of YOU know a legend when you see one ?? Apparently not, judging from the comments I have read.

@Kristen: Sorry but she is Harvey Weinstein’s new little project. Did you not notice that everything he had his hands on won something tonight and at the Critics Choice Award Thursday they gave him every award or those he sponsored the awards. Last night at the Critics Choice Awards he couldn’t keep his hands off Jennifer Lawrence. The gossip bloggers say he goes for the blondes even though he is married and old.The CW had the Awards on and Weinstein jumped up when she got the Best Actress Award and ran over to her hugging her before she went on stage. She made a diss to Strepp at this award show also for they shot to Strepp but whatever Jennifer said they muted it for you saw her mouth move but no sound. Strepp looked pissed when they showed her. As long as she stays on Weinsteins list she will go far since he has the power in HW right now thanks to his friendship and bank rolling of Obama. Weinstein gets anything he wants thanks to his political moves. She isn’t getting the awards because of the Hunger Games but anything she does with Weinstein. Just watch she will get the oscar and Weinsteins’s productions will win everything. She is an okay actress but I think Emma Stone is much better but not getting the credit she deserves for her acting ability thanks to Weinstein.

Common sense

Posted at 1:57 AM on January 14, 2013

Ok. First of all, it was not a diss. It was a quote from First Wives Club. Second of all after she said it she followed with ” All Joking aside…” Also, Jennifer Lawrence was known before being cast in THG for being nominated for an Oscar for her amazing acting in ” Winters Bone”. Obviously you must be pretty stupid to think people wont care about her in two years since she has The Hunger Games movies Catching Fire, Mockingjay Part 1 and Mockingjay Part two lined up until Novemeber 2015. On top of that, do you really think Lindsay Lohan has “sense and balls” after being arrested on many different accounts related to drug and alcohol abuse? If anyone J. Law is the role model here.
