‘Glee’ Scoop: Season 5 Only Taking Place In NYC?

Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly is considering moving the entire ‘Glee’ series to New York City, and leaving William McKinley High behind! Would you be on board for such a drastic change?

Despite Glee’s awkward scheduling this season (we’re currently suffering another break that started on Dec. 13 and won’t end until Jan. 24) and divided storylines between its Ohio and New York characters, Fox is very happy and hopes to sign the series well past season 5, Fox Entertainment chairman Kevin Reilly recently said!

“We’re going to negotiate now for the fifth season and beyond, so we’re talking about [the future of the series] now. I have to talk to [creator] Ryan [Murphy] and see where he’s at right now; I don’t know, I wonder could it and should it naturally move [to NYC]? But we have to talk about it. [Season 4] was ultimately what became of the spinoff talk: Let’s do it within the franchise. I do think if we can continue to follow a broad array of characters, it’s like life, you have relationships, you have friends, they go off, their lives go on and you get together and maybe you maintain a friendship, maybe you lose distance. I think we can do that within this world of people you followed,” Kevin said at the Television Critics Association press tour on Jan. 8.

With the impending graduation issue plaguing Darren Criss, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris (if she’s lucky) and others, Ryan and Co. have a lot to consider.

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Would you like to see Glee move exclusively to New York City?

YEEEESSSSSSSSSS. The idea that the writers had to bring in a load of new characters is stupid, every gleek misses the old glee with all of the original cast members because they have been there from the beginning and are likeable. If it wasnt for blaine still being at mckinley, id skip every single mickinley scene. You have to say goodbye to mckinley and move blaine to nyada and get the old characters to move to new york where they can work and live and see eachother all the time. Will could be in broadway with april and sue could have a job being at the headquaters of cheerleading thing or something. Just get rid of the new characters asap.

Customer warning…many of these Cheap Hermes Sale for Sale you should never function in keeping with volume. I found that they function just like most of the several other conventional Cheap Hermes Sale for Sale variations. My husband and i decreed great truthful volume in those which are too large!

I would like it if Blaine and stuff moved to NY, they still had the glee club at McKinley, but the story line focused more on NY. I REALLY hope there’s a season 5! And we have to remember that the kids couldn’t stay in high school forever :)

YES YES YES PLEASE. I absolutely love Rachel and Kurt’s storyline in New York! If it weren’t for Blaine, I’d be skipping the McKinley scenes completely. I think it’s the best idea if we want to raise the ratings. Sorry to say, but no one cares about the new characters. They’re boring. The Marley/Jake relationship makes me want to shoot myself in the face.

Ship Blaine and the other graduates off to New York and freshen the show up. Also Ryan promised “eternity” for Klaine so we better see them together eventually. I actually like the fact that Kurt and Blaine are on a break. And I like Adam. I ship Kadam, bUT KLAINE IS ENDGAME.

BLAINE AT NYADA PLEASE.

Love Santana rooming with Rachel, Kurt and Brody too. Love them all. The New York scenes are perfection so please make this happen for Season 5. I have had enough, and I don’t want to sit through the cringe-worthy new kids’ scenes. They’re truly terrible.

(Also wtf is going on with Sue’s baby? That storyline. I don’t even.)

URGH! Yes PLEASE! The left over McKinley stories are SO bad it hurts my senses and I pretty much fastforward to the NYC bits and those story lines. Let’s move on PLEASE! If it continues this way it will be my last season as a viewer. Not interested in the high school story and don’t care what happens there. And really…who goes back to their high school after they graduate?!

Glee needs to move to NYC. The people who watch Glee are growing up and need more serious drama then high school. People could move across the country for a variety of reason. Broadway, family issues, love, work options, Sport! Someone shoudl get very ill and die (a cast member who wants out of the show) They need a traffic event to happen to make it real, people do experience this. A baby, wedding, dating a famous person in NY. Lots of options in NYC. The remaining characters at high school need to just fade out! Then in a few seasons time bring them back.

This show seriously needs to spin off. The new cast has potential, but they are spread too thin so we don’t have enough time to care about them. (They should have brought new characters and graduated characters every year starting with season one, but alas…)

New York has the potential to be a new, more mature Glee – (and please, more Sarah Jessica Parker) but so much is happening with too many holes to fill in the gaps and show the growth.

They need to focus on one or the other in a given show – but I love old Glee format and I love those characters who have graduated – so here is another vote for SPIN OFF – best of both worlds for Gleeks.

i really hope season 5 is just about new york and the old cast members! I really hate the new characters except kitty. The old cast are growing and the show is growing so we only need to focus on them

I hate watching the show in two cities. I’d rather see a spin off and develop the characters in Lima. I loved the show because it was about high school glee clubs. Now it just feels all over the place. It’s like the senior who graduated high school but keeps hanging out with the high schoolers because he can’t/doesn’t know how to move on.

I’d love a spin-off, as well! Initially, I didn’t care for the new kids, except Wade/Unique, but some of the others have started to grow on me a bit. But I don’t know if it’s because the veteran McKinley kids are keeping my attention over there long enough to see the new characters flesh out. However, I’ve been much happier with the 4th season than I was at the beginning. Not sure why the numbers are so low, except that a bunch of folks jumped ship and haven’t looked back to see what’s going on. Of the 12 episodes so far, there’ve only been 3 that would be as low as a 3 out of 5 stars (for me); with 4 having 5/5 stars and the rest in-between.

Expected to really hate “Naked”, but it was cool and FUN. Same for “Sadie Hawkins”. Now “Diva” has a Kurt/Rachel musical cat-fight, a Lima musical cat-fight and I read somewhere that Santana gets THREE songs in this episode? Maybe she makes her decision to move to NYC? Not sure if I can see Santana in the loft with Kurt, Rachel & Brody, but maybe she’ll get him OUT (just uncool to wander naked at eating table).

It’s almost like two different shows now. The NYC stories are mature and interesting, while the Ohio stories are inane. All the new cast members are amazing performers, though. I’m not sure they’d work in NYC, though. Maybe it could be 80% NYC and 20% Ohio. Marley and Jake are both amazing, and it would be sad to lose those characters.

i hate marley and kitty. they need to show more of joe , and unique this season, as they did season 3. now their just in the backround. they also need to get blaine and kurt back together. it was kurt that was ignoring blaine, and blaine eventually cheated, but blaine adores kurt, and kurt needs to forgive him.

The crazy thing is, they could have gotten four years out of the original cast. They chose to graduate everyone after three. Stupid, STUPID move on their part!
