Watch the chilling new video & sound off with your thoughts on season three!
HBO’s latest teaser video for Game of Thrones‘ third season literally gives us no new footage, but I don’t even care, because I’ll take anything I can get at this point. In the teaser, the show’s unnamed three-eyed raven — I’ll call him Jerry, because I feel like he deserves a name — soars ominously through the sky, as “their world returns to ours” appears on screen.
Game of Thrones fans will recognize the mysterious bird from Bran’s (Isaac Hempstead-Wright) dreams, the eeriest of which involved the raven landing on a direwolf statue, then flying towards the Stark family crypt.
‘Game Of Thrones’ Season 3 Spoilers:
Game of Thrones‘ third season is based on the first half of A Storm of Swords, which is the third installment in George R.R. Martin‘s book series. Not much about the season is known — unless, of course, you’ve read the books — but there are a few details I can share.
Fourteen new characters will be introduced during the show’s third season, all of which were revealed in a video released by HBO during San Diego Comic-Con last summer. (That’s right, as if there weren’t already too many characters to keep track of, you’ll now have 14 more.)
In addition to having more characters, the third season will also feature slightly longer episodes. While past episodes have been around 52 minutes long, season three episodes will run between 56 and 57 minutes. (It doesn’t sound like a lot, but it is.)
And the seventh episode of the third season, titled “Chains,” is written by George.
