The singer looked so romantic in bronze-y hues for the 2013 People’s Choice Awards at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on January 9, 2013 in Los Angeles, California–here’s how to get the exact look straight from her makeup artist!
To go with Katy Perry‘s Valentino dress and braided updo, makeup artist Todd Delano chose rich, earthy tones to compliment the look. The star, 28, looked absolutely beautiful in the subtle hues.
How to recreate Katy Perry’s People’s Choice Awards Makeup Look
Todd prepped Katy’s skin with Laura Mercier hydrating primer and evened it out with YSL Touché Eclat foundation. He highlighted with the Touche Éclat in the areas that he wanted to bring forward and give light to the face. He then used Koh Gen Do Maifanshi Natural lighting loose powder, which leaves the skin with a diffused and hydrated effect. To bronze the skin, Todd used Nars Laguna bronzer for dimension and a warmth. He added Kevyn Aucoin candlelight powder to Katy’s upper cheekbones for an extra glow.
On the apples of her cheeks, Todd used Kevyn Aucoin Dolline blush and buffed Nars Luster over for an apricot glow. “I like to start with a matte blush and add shimmer second,” he says. For her eyes, he went with a warm chocolate color, Nars Matte Eyeshadow in Sophia, on the lid and buffed up to the crease and swept it under the lower lash line. He added some dimension on the corners with Embark from MAC. “I tightly lined the upper lash line with YSL gel liner in black and lined the lower water line with Paula Dorf Baby Eyes to open the eye up without looking artificial like a harsh white pencil.”
Todd just slightly filled in Katy’s brows with Anastasia brow pencil and applied MAC Whirl lipliner and MAC Syrup lipstick on her lips.
