On Jan. 7, Sean began his journey to find love on ‘The Bachelor’, but does his heart still remain with Emily?

Sean Lowe is ABC’s newest Bachelor, and while he has 19 beautiful women competing for his hand in marriage, it seems like he still infatuated with his former Bachelorette love Emily Maynard. Sean was devastated when Emily failed to pick him as her fiancé on the finale on the show, and in a new interview he  talks about how “unique and special” Emily is, and he says that “no one really reminded me of Emily too much this season.” Is Sean still hung up on Emily?

Sean’s Feelings For Emily

Sean lost out on the chance to be Emily’s husband when she picked Jef Holm, and it devastated him, as he admits “there were a lot of sleepless nights,” to InTouch. “A lot of tossing and turning and replaying in my head, wondering what went wrong.” Sean seems a little fixed on his rejection, as he also said being sent home by Emily was “the first time I ever had my heart broken” to Life & Style. “My feelings for Emily were very real. I really laid my heart out there.”

Sean was asked by OK! if any of the new contestants reminded him of Emily, to which he said no. “I don’t think so, but I think that’s just a testament to how unique and special Emily is. No one really reminded me of Emily too much this season.”

Sean certainly seems to still hold a candle for his ex, although it looks like he ready to find love again on The Bachelor!

Sean’s Plans For Love

While Sean still seems affectionate for Emily, he is ready to move forward: “I have fond memories of our time together, but now I’m in an even better place and really looking forward to the future and finding the right one… I’m ready to move on.”

He has a new attitude for finding love, as he told Life & Style, ”I wouldn’t have accepted to be the Bachelor if my heart wasn’t totally mended. I really wanted to find my best friend, someone I can really see myself spending every day with and just enjoying being with her and being her partner for life.”

We wish Sean the best! After the eventful season opener, we have no doubt that he will find the woman of his dreams. And it is nice to see Emily wish him the best in his journey to find love.
