The comedian and former talk show host welcomed daughter Dakota with wife Michelle Rounds! She announced the good news via her Instagram account on Jan. 9 — congrats to the happy couple!

Rosie O’Donnell has welcomed another child into her big family — a baby girl named Dakota! The comedian, who welcomed the baby with her wife Michelle Rounds, announced the arrival of their bundle of joy via her Instagram account on Jan. 9.

“We r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN” Rosie wrote along with the pic. No other details about the birth were available.

Rosie O’Donnell Marries Michelle Rounds Quietly

Rosie and Michelle tied the knot in a surprise ceremony in July after Michelle was diagnosed with desmoid tumors, a very rare disease that affects three in one million people. The couple got engaged in December 2011 and had planned a wedding in August, but moved it up after they learned of Michelle’s illness.

“It is such a rare tumor. It took them quite a while to get an accurate diagnosis,” Rosie’s rep Cindi Berger told People magazine at the time. “She had several gastrointestinal surgeries to remove the desmoid turmors. She is now on the road to recovery.”

The arrival of their baby is a surprise as well — neither woman announced that they were planning on adding another to their family!

Rosie and her ex, Kelli Carpenter, have four kids: Parker Jaren, 17, Chelsea Belle, 15, Blake Christopher, 13, and Vivienne Rose, 10.

Congrats to the happy family!

I totally agree with you, S.V.K. – this insanity should not be allowed – messing with the way things should be!

Apparently, “Walt Thiessen”, you’re the only one with a miserable life, because everyone else thinks differently on the matter. That’s how reality goes. So, quit trolling, enjoy life and have real babies given their real names by their real parents or guardians. Try it!! It actually works!! Cheers and BE HAPPY!! 8^D

I think it is fascinating to note how many readers here are determined to see the birth of a newborn as a tragedy. I feel sorry for them; their lives must be really miserable to have such attitudes.

Dreadful and fraudulent non-birth to a dreadful and fraudulent non-kid with a dreadfully misused and fraudulent non-name. Calamity and fate ensues.

Yuck! I think Rosie O’Donnell is not any type of a role model. She should focus on bettering herself before she ruins another kids life. Who cares what she has going on in her life.

It is so very, very important to grow up with a father and for a girl a must. I can’t believe that this is allowed.

My father ran out on his family when I was 3 and my sister 6, so not everyone has the option of having a dad even if its a “must”. my mom struggled very hard to raise the two of us alone, so i think its far more important to have 2 parents or permanent caretakers. regardless of their gender. good for rosie and michelle! they look so happy, I’m sure they will be great moms!

Can not believe this foul mouthed “woman”(???) is even allowed to “have” children. She is definitely not a posterchild for motherhood. Or is that fatherhood. Give me a break…
