Selena Gomez Reads 'Mean Tweets' On 'Jimmy Kimmel Live'

No one feels the wrath of anonymous Twitter haters more than celebrities, which is why it’s always so funny to see them strike back at the nasty comments sent their way. When Selena Gomez appeared on the Jan. 8 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live!, she joined a group of stars in a segment called “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” — and it was hysterical!

Selena Gomez Strikes Back At Haters

The segment marked the third time host Jimmy Kimmel has gathered celebs to laugh at themselves and the hate sent their way. Selena appeared first and read a tweet from a charming Twitter user with the handle @theeznuts1, who had tweeted, “@selenagomez is on the radio right now. Is there a volume lower than mute?” Mean!

She replied by simply looking into the camera, shrugging her shoulders, and saying, “Sorry,” in a way that implied she was in on the joke.

More Celebs Join In On The Fun

Selena was joined by Jessica Biel and Hayden Panettiere, among others. Jessica’s mean tweet came from @madison_davide, who wrote, “my asian orthodontist says @jessicabiel has horse teeth.” In reply, Jessica hysterically brayed like a horse.

Hayden found herself a little confused by her hate tweet, from @DonkeyGoatFace, which said, “No one else finds Hayden Panettiere intolerable,” with no punctuation. Puzzled, Hayden asked, “Is that a question?”

While all these were funny, the funniest moment in the entire segment may have come from Anderson Cooper, which involved a comment about dinosaurs and some very salty language from the usually composed newsman!

So much hate. So much anger! Haters publish hateful comments towards many remarkable and successful individuals. Psychologists have determined that haters, also known as bullies, start by abusing their own families, spouses, children, siblings, pets, and friends. Haters are also, most often, child abusers and always cowards when confronted.

I did not like Selena’s response to the mean tweet. She seemed self-absorbed and contrived, not at all natural. I don’t think she has the X Factor to have a lasting career. I just don’t think she has much talent and it’s all just hype.

Let’s dedicate 2013 to fewer drama queens and more fun. Jelena and Haylor are done, yester news. The doctor prescribes corrective surgery to install thermostats and reset buttons. For the next year take Jaylor twice a day, a prescription for BFF with benefits. With similar schedules and careers they will rarely see each other, when they do, no drama, no BS, just fun. Because of Media BS real strength and survival for celebs resides within supporting each other.

See? The “no offense” thing doesn’t really work when you say something petty and spiteful. Since everything you say here is petty and spiteful, you should probably just delete “no offense” from your vocabulary.

Btw, the segment is funny. The celebrities are laughing at themselves. Seriously, let the hate go. Selena is a sweet girl and you’re gonna bust a blood vessel if you can’t stop resenting the hell out of her.

This is an opinion page. HL asks a question, and we live in a free country so we are allowed to express ourselves, and answer it. People can express their opinion – good or bad. You don’t have to like it, or read it. I’m sure they themselves have opinions -good or bad – about other celebs too. And, I’m sure some of these celebs are very nice. But, this is a gossip site, which can be negative and/or critical. What are you doing here? Why are you trolling people who don’t agree with you? Freedom of expression is a right. Are you saying I don’t have a right to answer HL’s questions? Just because I don’t feel someone is as wonderful a singer or whatever, as you do, doesn’t mean I can’t have an opinion. If all you want to see is yet more love and adoration for a celebrity, go to the celebrity’s facebook page, or youtube channel, or subscribe to their tweets, or webpages, etc. This really isn’t the site for you.

Why do celebs feel they have to be loved constantly – awards, medals, honours – for being an entertainer, not to mention living like Kings and queens. No one is allowed to have an opinion that is in any way negative – I’m sure celebs NEVER dislike anyone or judge people. Right. Maybe Selena should take the message about the mute button a little more seriously – possibly listen to herself sing live.
