The beautiful ‘Les Mis’ star dressed up her lips in a deep wine stain for an event at Cipriani 42nd Street on January 8, 2013 in New York City–Do YOU love the color? Sound off!

Amanda Seyfried, 27, played up her lush pout with a deep red lipstick that was incredibly sexy and sophisticated. The dark tone was a pretty contrast to her pale features and instantly made her gorgeous eyes sparkle.

How to wear dark lipstick

A deep burgundy lip look seems bold but works with most skin tones because the hue isn’t over-powering and has a surprising subtlety about it. If you haven’t noticed, the color is so on trend and gracing the lips of celebs all over Tinseltown. If you want to try a color like Amanda’s, go for Clé de Peau Beaute Extra Rich Lipstick in R 10.

. The hue is equally as deep and the formula is pretty amazing too. It’s actually the first lipstick formulated with Vitamin A Acetate, which creates a creamy, rich texture that feels so soft and luxurious. To insure your lipstick stays put and won’t migrate to the outside of your lips, start by lining them with a lip liner that matches your natural lip color.

The best way to wear a lipstick as dark as Amanda’s is to keep the rest of your makeup minimal, otherwise, you will look overdone. One major don’t: do not use a dark lipstick if your lips are chapped! The color will get caught on your lips and look terrible. Just make sure your lips are smooth before applying. Run a soft, dry toothbrush over your lips; it’ll act as a gentle exfoliator and remove any flaky skin.
