Now that winter is in full swing, your face and body are likely feeling the drying effects.  Never fear! Here, tips from Dermatologists Marina Peredo, M.D., F.A.A.D and Howard Sobel, M.D., F.A.A.C.S to keep your skin supple and flawless all season long!

Your face is the first to feel and show the signs of winter’s wrath. “It’s important to keep your face hydrated and protected since it is the most exposed from harsh winter winds,” says Dr. Sobel. “For day, use a face lotion with Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate and plump the skin.

Winter skin S.O.S.

Try the ultra-rich formulated glō•therapeutics Cyto-luxe Cream, which improves skin with the combination of Hyaluronic Acid to absorb hydration and counteract the effects of time, Kombuchka to enhance the skin’s texture, and Buddleja Stems, an Asian shrub with healing properties.

At night, treat your face with a highly concentrated serum that works overnight to reduce pores, smooth skin and leave a brighter, more even complexion, says Dr. Peredo. Dermelect Self-Esteem Beauty Sleep Serum  works to stimulate collagen-building cell activity while reducing fine lines, age spots, clogged pores and wrinkles.

“Not only are dry, irritated hands painful but they’re also unattractive! Before protecting hands with a pair of gloves when going outdoors, apply a silicone-based hand cream to form a defensive layer around the skin to seal in moisture,” says Dr. Sobel. Perfect for relieving dry or chapped hands, Christina Cosmeceuticals Forever Young Ultra Hydrating Hand Cream SPF 15 is packed with peptides to enhance cell adhesion, growth and circulation. Shea Butter and Phytosqualane moisturize, nourish and renew skin while Retinol protects and corrects sun damage and discoloration

“While you might be drawn to lick dry, chapped lips to add hydration, this can only dry them further since saliva contains enzymes that draw moisture out of the skin. Before applying a lip balm, moisten lips with cool water, and then apply the balm to lock in moisture,” says Dr. Peredo.

Feet are just as prone to winter ravages as the rest of our body. “Our feet need just as much TLC as the rest of our body does, so pamper dry, cracked skin with a thick lotion for ultimate smoothness. Wearing cotton socks overnight after you apply lotion will allow the product to work better,” says Dr. Sobel.  Try Dermelect Runway Ready Luxury Foot Treatment restores, exfoliates and conditions dry, damaged skin. Enriched with natural soothers like Argan Oil and Shea Butter, anti-inflammatory Arnica, circulation-booster Butcher’s Broom and moisture-locking Hyaluronic Acid, skin is left supple and silky after just one application.
