The singer was spotted outside MyStudio nightclub in Los Angeles January 6 with one decidedly different attribute–instead of her trademark pixie cut, Rihanna was rocking a longer ombre hairstyle. What do you think of the look? Vote below!
Rihanna, 24, looked so super glamorous in long lush locks. Clearly, she had extensions put it, because there’s no way her pixie crop could grow over night! The star was absolutely stunning and barely recognizable in the long, sleek style.
Extensions are a great way to take your tresses from short to long. Rihanna first gave the world a look at her short, pixie haircut in Los Angeles September 5, just a day before the MTV Video Music Awards. Though Rihanna has changed up her hairstyle several times since shooting the We Found Love music video, her longtime hairstylist, Ursula Stephen, insists her latest makeover was a long time coming.
“We had been talking about going short for a little while now and actually planned to do it the following week, but I just felt like, why wait? Let’s do it today!” Motions Global Ambassador Stephen told Us Weekly. “And Ri said the same thing. She was ready for her short hair again!” Stephen advises wrapping the hair in a silk scarf at night. “Style with fingers using a cocktail of the Motions Radiating Gloss and shine enhancing pomade and you are ready to go!” she says.
“The cut and color gradation suits her well,” says celebrity hairstylist Angelo David of Angelo David Salon in NYC. It’s such a feminine look that can be easily recreated using my Angelo David Couture Fillers, to achieve the volume and length.”
There is no doubt real human hair was used to achieve Rihanna’s new look, says Angelo. “Human hair extension are much better than its synthetic counterpart because it gives the flexibility of styling with hot tools and appears to blend naturally with your own hair,” he says. Real Human hair is significantly more expensive, but you are getting your money’s worth with the results. “Such premium quality human hair, like the Couture Extensions I have in the salon, can start around $1000 and up, even more if you prefer them customized to your needs,” says Angelo.
Over the years, Rihanna has played around with many different hairstyles from long to short and curly to straight. The singer definitely uses her hair and makeup as a way to express herself. She’s so pretty, she would look good with a shaved head, but we love her with this long, lush hair! She looks softer, more feminine and glamorous.

I’d say, she’s more feminine this way. She’s so much more Rihanna, the old Rihanna, the one that didn’t have to prove anything by being crazy/provocative(which she certainly is in most of’er videos)…she was herself back then. Her career inspired me ’till she cut her hair off :) A lil’ while after “We ride”,I guess..From “Disturbia” and so far with “Diamonds” she made lotsa changes which don’t simply define her.I won’t add that they don’t fit her either,b’cos..let’s drop the gun…Rihanna!Rihanna…everything she’d wear(from weird haircuts to the most “Gaga” outfits) would look awesome on her! It’s just not her the way I’m seein’ it…and w/o those extensions, she’s still gorgeous,no matter what! But still…long hair FTW!^^ ‘Nuff said..
