After a tough month of pregnancy troubles and tragic circumstances, Kate and William had a relaxed family Christmas in the UK, complete with some pheasant hunting!

Prince William and Kate Middleton spent Christmas with their families, as they divided their time by spending Christmas with pregnant Kate’s family in Bucklebury, Berkshire and the following day with the Royal family at the Queen’s Sandringham House in Norfolk. How sweet! With their baby due this summer, it’s nice that they are having a relaxed Christmas with their families before their bundle of joy arrives! Read on for all the details.

Kate & William’s Family Christmas

As previously reported by HollywoodLife.com, Kate and William broke royal tradition by spending Christmas with Kate’s family in Berkshire, instead of spending it with the Queen and the rest of William’s family in Sandringham. Kate and William enjoyed Christmas with Kate’s family in their Georgian manor, and they were seen attending mass in the local church. According to the Daily Mail, Kate chose to relax at her family home after her morning sickness drama.

However, the couple took the long drive to the Queen’s estate on Dec. 26, just in time for Prince Philip‘s annual pheasant hunt!  While William joined his family for the hunt, Kate choose to remain at the house with the Queen. After lunch however, she watched the rest of the hunt from a warm car, reports the Daily Mail.

Will and Kate are a revolutionary royal couple, as they have broken royal tradition several times in order to make the royal family more modern. Not only did they manage to have the Christmas they wanted, they have also changed a law to ensure that if their first baby is a girl, she will be first in line for the throne over a younger male sibling.

New Year’s Plans

Following all the drama surrounding their pregnancy announcement, the couple are said to be flying to Scotland on Dec. 27, so they can have a peaceful New Years Eve. With Kate’s 31st birthday just around the corner, maybe they will discuss how to celebrate!
