Crowned the season 3 winner of ‘The Voice,’ Cassadee walked away with a $100,000 record deal with Republic Records, three number one hits on iTunes and one of the greatest blessings in her life– a reunion with her father.

Cassadee Pope had a chance to discuss her estranged relationship with her father Lenny Pope before one of her best performances “Behind These Hazel Eyes,” originally sung by Kelly Clarkson. During the performance Cassadee said she was on the verge of tears because the song really hit home. After talking with Christina Aguilera about her own issues with her father, Cassadee realized that this is something that can help her connect with her fans who have experienced things just like her.

Cassadee told Wetpaint, “That’s one of the biggest reasons I’m doing this, is for people to be able to relate to me and connect with what I’m singing. I hope that continues.”

As the show progressed, the singer received a phone call from her father for the first time in over a year. “I was like, lets leave the past in the past and be a family again,” she told InTouch. “My dad’s a totally changed man — he’s that great guy I grew up loving. It’s really cool to have him back.”

The phone call allowed both Cassadee and her father Lenny to apologize to one another for the distance they allowed in their relationship. Although she didn’t come on ‘The Voice’ with expectations to reconnect with her father, she is more than happy to have her family back together.

With the help of ‘The Voice,’ Cassadee is on the road to a well-rounded life that includes the two things she adores — music and her family. We can’t wait to see what will come of her career as Blake Shelton boasts that “Cassadee will sell a million more records than Kelly Clarkson.”
