One week after the tragic massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School, the killer’s body remains unclaimed.
As many of the victims are being buried after the Dec. 14 massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn., the mass killer Adam Lanza‘s body is still unclaimed. Why hasn’t his father or brother collected it? Meanwhile, his mother Nancy Lanza was buried on Dec. 20 in New Hampshire, with only a small number of family in attendance.
Adam Lanza’s Body
Adam, 20, killed himself shortly after murdering his mother Nancy, 52, and killing 20 children and 6 adults in the Sandy Hook school. Adam has not yet been buried, and his body is yet to be claimed. “No one from any funeral home has come forward,” a spokesman for the Connecticut Chief Medical Examiner told The Daily Mail earlier this week.
Why hasn’t Adam’s father, Peter Lanza, collected his body? After the shooting Peter said, “We too are asking why. Like so many of you, we are saddened, but struggling to make sense of what has transpired.”
Even though Adam committed the most horrific crime, someone in his family should bury him.
Nancy Lanza’s Funeral
Nancy was buried in an undisclosed location in New Hampshire on Dec. 20, reports CNN. Only a small number of family attended. Nancy used to live in New Hampshire, and her brother currently lives there. Her body was claimed by her out-of-state family, reports the New Haven Register.
Earlier this week, they reported that she was being collected ahead of her funeral.“There is a funeral home, out of state and whose name is as yet unknown to me, who wants to claim the body discreetly,” said Dr. H. Wayne Carver.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Are you surprised that Adam’s family have not claimed his body?

It is most likely that he was either cremated or buried, claimed with a private funeral already. They will not announce it yet due to an angry mob that would mutilate his corpse and grave site. Since he is well hated upon, I do believe that his funeral was swift and silently done. Even if the funeral was heavily watched by police, it wouldn’t stop people determined to get at his corpse, eventually. To avoid any confrontation, they mostly likely had the funeral done fast and very hush hush. They will probably announce it a week from now, his already finished funeral and by then no one will have a clue to his remains where-about. You can’t keep a corpse long at any mortuary or funeral home, unclaimed. Even in heavy refrigeration storage, a corpse breaks down and liquifies after so many days. Funeral directors most likely don’t wait at that point, they push till something is done with the body, claimed or unclaimed. He is most likely already buried with a service of small amount of family members.
