‘The Vampire Diaries’ star trades his fangs for a tux in a new series of short films to promote clean energy.
Because it’s apparently not enough for Ian Somerhalder to just make a movie where he looks hot and kicks ass, his latest effort also has a positive agenda for the environment. Time Framed, a collection of eco-friendly short films, finds Agent Black (Ian) battling evil do-ers who plan to steal an energy device that could provide the world with clean energy. It’s basically the movie version of his Twitter account.
From what we can see in this first teaser trailer, Ian does a whole lot of fighting — and potentially some loving — all while decked out in the snazziest of suits.
Ian Somerhalder’s History Of Environmental Work:
Though this is the first time Ian has fully incorporated his passion for the environment into one of his on-screen projects, he has a long history of working to raise awareness of environmental issues.
The Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which was officially launched in 2010 on Ian’s 32nd birthday, “aims to empower, educate and collaborate with people and projects to positively impact the planet and its creatures.”
Among other things, the Louisiana native was also actively involved with the clean up of the gulf earlier that year.
Nina Dobrev Shows Her Support:
Along with his legion of devoted fans, Ian’s Vampire Diaries co-stars are also helping to get the word out about Time Framed.
“It’s finally out!!!!” Nina Dobrev tweeted Dec. 20. “First teaser from a short film series that @iansomerhalder produced with SinFactory Media. Directed by Sinisha Nisevic!”
She also noted the single greatest moment in the trailer, tweeting, “‘Put it wherever you want, it’s not mine.’ HA! Brilliant line.”
