Beyonce, Jennifer Aniston and many other stars join Selena in this stark message asking for a sensible gun control. Check out the spot below and tell us what YOU think about this hot-button issue.

Selena Gomez is just one of several superstars starring in a commercial demanding a sensible gun control plan after the unthinkable massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

Selena Gomez’s Important Message

Selena, 20, and the other stars deliver an important message that appeals to any American.

“How many more colleges, classrooms, movie theatres, houses of faith, shopping malls, street corners?” the stars ask “Enough. Demand a plan. Right now. As a mom, as a dad, as a friend, as a husband, as a wife, as an American, as a human being, for the children of Sandy Hook — demand a plan. No more lists of names. It’s not too soon. It’s too late. Now is the time, before we all know someone who loves someone on that list. No more lists. No more who they might have been, if we had just done something yesterday. It’s time. We can do better than this. It’s time for our leaders to act. Demand a plan right now. Right now. You can demand it. Enough.”

Who Else Is Supporting ‘Demand A Plan’?

The effort has been rallied by more than 750 mayors and 750,000 citizens, Demand A Plan’s website says.

We’re so proud of Selena for standing up for an issue that is important to her — she’s so caring.

Common sense

I encourage the gun haters of america to educate themselves about firearms. It is ignorant to hate things you dont have a full understanding of. I also encourage you to READ the second amend, ent. It doesnt say the right to bear the arms the government says you can have either. If you really dont like what the constitution says, maybe you should go to one of the places that doesnt have guns already and apply for citizenship

Hollywood needs to get a grip on real life. I’ll support gun control when hollywood supports controls on the 1st amendment guarantee of freedom of speech. Once again hollywood is yelling “Look Yonder” knowing full well that everyone is looking yonder no one is looking here. Down with violent movies and video games!!!!!

I am really sick of celebrities putting in their two cents worth when a tragedy happens. In their body guarded, fenced in homes, and I am sure armed, 24 hour protected mansions. How can they possibly know how the common man feels?? Stick to making movies…

Im sure every one of those celebs has body gaurds who are armed with…..omg……GUNS! what a sick world it is when we even care what a bunch of sell outs with no souls and no education or beneficial contribution to society think about public policy. They are representative of everything corrupt in our world….and care less about “common folk”. If anyone takes anything from their empty words Id hope itd be to do the OPPOSITE of whatever they are pushing. They are whores-nothing more-litterally.

its like what chris rock said once in a stand up. we dont need gun control we need bullet control. bullets are cheap. make em cost a ton of money. no one would afford to buy bullets.

Movie stars should stick to making movies. Lets ban all guns and violence from the movies!!! They wouldn’t be making many movies then, would they? That will fix everything!! Right!! Between P. Morgan and CNN, together, after a week of spuing their toxic vomit on gun bans on us, they have won the Gun Salesman Of The Century Award. There isn’t a AR or M4 left in any gun shop or online warehouse anywhere. SOLD OUT!!! Thanks!!!! you are really part of the solution.

Guns don’t kill people by themselves, crazy people use guns to kill others! Criminals obviously don’t care if they break the law, a sign on an establishment that states it’s a gun-free zone or no guns allowed will not stop a crazy shooter from going on a killing spree. All that is doing is stripping law abidding citizens of their 2nd amendment right to bear firearms. There has been a school shooting come to a scretching hault when a vice-principal pulled out his .45 pistol and stopped the rampage. Criminals will break the law and find a way to get a gun if they really want to. We shouldn’t keep the good law abiding citizens from being able to protect themselves and others around them. We shouldn’t make it easier for the crazies to attack knowing they are going into a gun free zone, and the good people there can’t protect themselves.

I think this is a great commercial because there are a lot of big names in it and people listen to big names. And people really need to listen to doing something about gun control. Newtown CT was like a paradise for families, suppose to be the best place to raise your kids, Sandy Hook was a great school. If it can happen there it can and will happen anywhere until there are better regulations regarding deadly weapons.

This country was brought to its knees by terrorists with box cutters and quite a few children were killed with fertilizer by Timothy McVeigh. Why are we not talking about banning or limiting access to both box cutters and fertilizer? And since when did Hollywood have all the answers. Most of these celebrities are uneducated with very little real life experience. They live in bubbles are are not personally exposed to to these things. I guess I just don’t understand how people look to celebrities for advice and knowledge when they basically lie and pretend to be average people for a living.

The box cutters and fertilizer cases aren’t things that have happened enough times to force the government to take action. No one is saying Hollywood has all the answers, these celebrities are just raising awareness. Also, in case you were unaware, many Hollywood stars and celebrities have attended college. Regardless, this is common sense. If you did some research you would know that many of the shootings that have happened, such as Virginia Tech and Columbine, could have been avoided if what Demand A Plan is asking for were to have been in place. Also, you say that these celebrities don’t actually experience these things nor are they exposed to this. Are you saying you are? You experience these things about as much as they do. Unless you lost someone in one of these shootings then you have no reason to act as though you were more exposed to this. The lack of good gun control rules in America has been a problem for far too long, in my opinion, and these celebrities choose to use their status to highlight the issue.

30, 000 people a year die from gun violence. Our murder rate is so many times above any fully industrialized first world country it’s a joke. Your right, it’s not the guns that kill people. It’s the proliferation of guns and the love of “gun culture”. It’s time to stop.

Ok so using your logic 42,000 people a year are killed in car accidents, let’s ban automobiles. 31% of those deaths are a result of drunk driving so lets ban alcohol and close down all the bars. If getting rid of all the guns will stop violence then surely getting rid of alcohol and bars, night clubs etc will save so many people from drunk drivers.
Are you beginning to see the stupidity of what you ask for? Banning inanimate objects is not a sane solution. It’s not even a solution..perhaps you should spend less time watching TV

Hollywoodlife, enough is enough, just as the video says it. Stop it. The rumors that you spread can really hurt people. and enough about selena gomez, and justin bieber, rihanna and chris brown. selena appeared in the video one time.ONE TIME and thats all you care about, that selena gomez is a caring person. wtf. beyonce said more things about this incident. just let it go. find some valid sources, because if there is one thing that I learned about journalsim is that you have to have at least two CITED sources, anonymous people don’t count. If you want to protect your sources then quote other people that you can actually cite, to back up your story, not some anonymous crap. this rumored stories can actually hurt people. another issue with this country (im not from here btw.) the obsession with gossip. i use to be, but im stopping, and you guys so lay off. there human beings to.

Um…This IS HOLLYWOOD life, not some network news station. You are very immature and feeble thinking you’ll get “real” news coming here. Watch, read and relax. Or just don’t come here. And maybe, just maybe, Selena Gomez is mentioned [more] because she MIGHT just REALLY care about these issues.

Amy: if you read my comment carefully then you notice that I do not use a gossip wensite as news. I am completly against this idea of spreading rumors. If I would want to learn vaild information with crediable soucres then i would go to websites that I can trust like the new york times or cnn or bbc. Does that make me immature and feeable? Now as for Selena, I never said she was not caring and yes she difinatley cares, like everybody in this country, I just find it wrong to pinpoint on celebrity who said one word and name it “Selena Gonez’s Important Message” when the message is from a much wider audience. Does that make sense? Sorry if I offended you.
