Emily and her daughter’s paternal grandparents have been known to disagree over Ricki’s upbringing, and a new report says that Emily is now ‘desperate’ to reconcile with them because she is scared they will stop giving her financial support if they don’t mend their relationship. Uh-oh!
Emily Maynard is in a sticky situation — she may be losing her main source of financial support. As previously reported by HollywoodLife.com, Emily has been arguing with her late fiance Ricky Hendrick‘s parents over her decisions regarding 7-year-old Ricki’s upbringing. Emily dreams of moving to LA to compete on Dancing With The Stars, while Linda and Rick Hendrick are horrified at the prospect of her taking their beloved granddaughter away from them. Now, Emily is panicked that they will cut off all support.
EMILY’S FINANCIAL CUSHION
Emily was 19-years-old when she became pregnant with Ricki; her fiance Ricky was tragically killed in a plane crash before their daughter was born. Since then, Ricky’s parents have supported the girls financially. In fact, Radar Online reports that Rick even got Charlotte, N.C. native Emily a job and paid her salary before she found fame with The Bachelorette.
“Both Rick and Linda went out of their way to ensure Emily could provide a decent future for Ricki, and that they would want for nothing,” says a source. Ricky’s parents “both donated and raised a lot of money for the Levine Children’s Hospital in Charlotte, so one day Rick went in and asked his close friend, who was one of the bosses, if they would give Emily a job,” the insider says.
That’s pretty sweet of Rick, but what he did next was rather questionable.
“Emily didn’t have the proper advanced degrees on her resume, and wasn’t as accomplished as she needed to be to secure a position there, so, as a sweetener, Mr. Hendrick offered to secretly pay her salary on the behalf of the hospital,” says the source.
How scandalous! Emily quit that job once she found fame, but now that she is finished with The Bachelorette, she is terrified that Rick and Linda will cut her off, as their support is currently her main source of income.
EMILY’S FUTURE
As previously reported by HollywoodLife.com, Emily is eager to move to LA to pursue her career, and there have been rumors that she is planning to participate on Dancing with the Stars. A source close to Emily revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY that they “believe the rumors to be true.”
The source says, “They are under no legal obligation, but have been paying a tidy sum each month. Emily is terrified they are going to stop giving her money, due to all their issues with her and the fights they have had. She is desperate to repair the relationship and is trying to win back Linda and Rick’s goodwill.”
Well, at least if Emily lands a spot on DWTS, she won’t have to worry about money!

Forget DWTS, family ALWAYS comes first, and Rickie’s grandparents have done so much for her, and I am sure she is very close to them. I wouldn’t take her away from where they live. Plus, how wonderful that they pay emily to raise their grandchild! What mother wouldn’t want to be able to be a stay at home mom full time, and provide a nice life like she has for her daughter, and herself. Don’t chase fame Emily, your five min. are up. You’re a sweet lady, but not Hollywood material.
