Katy Perry and frenemy Kristen Stewart are feuding over the role of Queen front man Freddie Mercury’s BFF, Mary Austin, according to a new report. Who do YOU think should play the part?
Things are heating up! The coveted role in the untitled Freddie Mercury movie is making some of the biggest names in Hollywood and music, like Kristen Stewart, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, get feisty trying to get the role!
The girls are feuding over the role of Mary Austin, a woman who was in a six year relationship with Freddie before he admitted her preferred men. He once told OK! Magazine that Mary was “the love of his life.”
“Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Kristen Stewart are on the short list for Mary, who played a huge role in Freddie’s life,” the source told Star magazine.
“They all desperately want the part, and it’s getting ugly!”
Sacha Baron Cohen will play the part of Freddie and will have the final say in which woman gets the role. But, since things are already getting vicious, their desire for the role may end up hurting them in the end.
“With the girls fighting like this, it’s just hurting their chances of getting the part. It’s unprofessional, and Sacha is tired of the back-and-forth — he wants to choose one of them and be done with it.”
Kristen and Katy have had a particularly rocky friendship. Although Kristen attended Katy Perry’s birthday party on Oct. 19, it was also reported that Katy and Robert Pattinson were dating after Kristen cheated on Rob in the summer of 2012.
