The ‘X Factor’ judge took the stage with girl group finalists Fifth Harmony to perform her hit song ‘Give Your Heart A Break’ during the first night of the season finale! Read on for all the details.

As the top three battled it out on night one of the two-part X Factor season finale on Wednesday, Dec. 19, girl group Fifth Harmony got a little help from a familiar face: judge Demi Lovato! The pop diva took the stage with the ladies to perform her hit single “Give Your Heart A Break”!

At first, it seemed just like a standard repeat performance of a song the ladies sang originally on Dec. 5, but about halfway through, one of the girls announced to the audience, “I literally can’t believe that I’m about to say this, but please welcome somebody we look up to so incredibly much, and she’s amazing, and I’m going to cry. Please welcome Demi Lovato!”

Out stepped Demi to bring the number home, belting out her hit with the ladies and dancing on stage with them! It must have been a total blast for Fifth Harmony to take the stage with her! As Demi hugged and giggled with the girls at the end, they all received a standing ovation from Simon Cowell, Britney Spears, and L.A Reid.

Demi did so well that Simon suggested she could join the group permanently. All she has to do is say the words and the group would become Sixth Harmony.

The X Factor‘s Tribute To Sandy Hook

Earlier in the telecast, the finalists performed a moving musical tribute to the victims of the tragic Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting that occurred on Dec. 14. The top three were joined by a slew of returning competitors and a lovely children’s choir to sing Michael Jackson‘s moving song “You Are Not Alone”. It was a touching example of music being used to reach out to those in need.

Did you love Demi’s performance with Fifth Harmony, HollywoodLifers?

I loved seeing this performance where Demi Lovato joined Fifth Harmony and agree with Simon, she could definitely join the group permanently! I thought she did wonderfully! She added so much soul to her song, performing it live. My DISH coworker and I love this show and have watched all season long. I recorded last night on my DISH Hopper with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. I like to set this up to record all primetime programming that comes on the four major networks, without having to set up any individual timers.

I was really bored by their performances, They repeated a 2 songs twice, performed skyscraper and give your heart a break both by demi then made a duet with the same song. No wonder they got better, too insecure

The girls don’t choose the songs themselves. Besides, their last performances were great! They could easily win the whole thing at this point!
