Scarlett has finally gotten justice after a perverse hacker leaked her nude photos online.
Christopher Chaney was sentenced to 10 years in prison Dec. 17, as he was found guilty of hacking the e-mail accounts of Scarlett Johansson, Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera. Christopher, 36, pleaded guilty to nine felony counts earlier this year — including identity theft, wiretapping, and unauthorized access — after he leaked several private photos of the celebrities online. Scarlett was hit the worse, as intimate naked photos of her were released for the world to see, and Christopher has been ordered to pay her compensation.
Christopher was arrested in Oct. 2011 after a year-long investigation, reports The UK’s Daily Mail. Christopher was unemployed and living in Jacksonville, Fla., when he became obsessed with hacking. He had no computer training, but managed to hack the inboxes of dozens of celebrities by guessing their email addresses and resetting passwords based on where they grew up and their pets’ names.
He became notorious after he leaked the nude pictures of Scarlett, which she admitted to Vanity Fair were meant for then-husband Ryan Reynolds. Scarlett spoke in a video statement for the court, saying, “I have been truly humiliated and embarrassed. I find Christopher Chaney’s actions to be perverted and reprehensible.”
Scarlett was tearful while making her statement, reports the Orlando Sentinel, and Judge S. James Otero ordered Christopher to pay $76,000 in restitution to Scarlett, Christina and Renee Olstead.
That’s chump change to Scarlett, and a small sum of money is not going to make up for having the whole world see her naked, but at least she can finally put the matter to bed.
What do YOU think HollywoodLifers? Do you think the ladies have gotten justice?
