'Gossip Girl' Finale: Fans React To Gossip Girl's Identity

It was the moment we’ve waited six seasons for, as Gossip Girl’s identity was finally revealed to us on Dec. 17. And fans were divided over who was revealed as the menacing blogger!

On Dec. 17, fans said goodbye to Dan (Penn Badgley), Blair (Leighton Meester), Serena (Blake Lively) Chuck (Ed Westwick) and Nate (Chace Crawford) as the Upper East Side gang closed their penthouse doors to us forever, in what can only be described as the best season finale ever! The best part of the episode by far was when we finally learned the identity of Gossip Girl, but fans are divided over the ultimate revelation. Read on to see what they thought!

Gossip Girl’s Identity

“Who am I? That’s one secret I’ll never tell,” are the famous words uttered by Gossip Girl, but after more than 100 episodes she has finally decided to spill the beans. And Gossip Girl is: DAN HUMPHREY!

Lonely Boy is in fact the face behind the most powerful voice in Manhattan, as he revealed that he didn’t know how to fit in with the posh kids, so instead he decided to “write [his] way in”.

Fans React

Fans took to Twitter, the CW’s Gossip Girl Facebook page and HollywoodLife.com to discuss their reactions to the season finale, and while many were happy with Dan being Gossip Girl, there were quite a few who were not!

Linda said “OMG.Dan is the GG.I Can’t belive.Im really gona MISS GG and the characters.It’s an amaizing show.”

Ally thinks “Omg I was so shocked that Dan was gossip girl! My jaw literally dropped to the floor. I always thought it was Dorota and if not her then Jenny but I didn’t even consider Dan!”

Christy says “Awesome ending! Can’t believe Dan was gossip girl, so perfect!”

Here at HollywoodLife.com, we thought it was a pretty amazing ending, and I was personally shocked but delighted that Dan has been the one saying “xoxo” for the last six years.
