Adam Lanza, 20, allegedly shot his mother in the head several times before heading to Sandy Hook Elementary School, where he killed 26 others before taking his own life. Had authorities not closed in on him, he would have continued on with his plan for an even more gruesome massacre.
Adam Lanza, 20, blasted his way into Sandy Hook Elementary School at around 9:30AM on Dec. 14, where he killed 20 children and six adults. Gov. Dannel Malloy said Adam shot himself as first responders entered the building, but had a lot of ammo on him when his body was found. They believe he would have continued to shoot and kill whoever crossed his path. How horrific.

“We surmise that it was during the second classroom episode that he heard responders coming and apparently at that, decided to take his own life,” Malloy said to ABC This Week.
Law enforcement officials are still investigating the case and have found no clear motive yet.
What they find odd is the fact that Adam’s mother, Nancy Lanza, who was also killed on Dec. 15, had large quantity of machine guns in the home she shared with Adam.

Various reports suggest that Nancy was a “survivalist” and was preparing for the end of the world due to the economic downturn and was stockpiling on food, water, and other items. She allegedly taught Adam how to shoot a gun, perhaps in preparation for the event.
Adam shot his mother in the face that day, several times, while she laid in bed, before stealing her three guns, and heading to the school. It appears as though Nancy may have been asleep when she was shot dead.
VICTIMS WERE SHOT MORE THAN ONCE
All the victims were shot with a rifle, some of them up close, and all were allegedly shot more than once, Chief Medical Examiner Dr. H. Wayne Carver said.
Adam died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Our thoughts remain with the victims who lost their lives, their suffering families, and the shaken community of Newtown, CT. We can’t imagine what they are feeling.
