With the recent dip in the ratings for both the UK and US version’s of ‘X Factor,’ plus the sudden announcement of LA Reid’s departure, Simon Cowell is reportedly looking to have Rihanna join the franchise as its newest judge! Do YOU think this a good move?
Rihanna is reportedly Simon Cowell’s number one choice to become a judge on The X Factor and make the show fresh and fun again. Simon is allegedly so adamant about bringing her on board that he is ready to give up some of his Christmas break in order to persuade RiRi to sign on!
While Simon takes his yearly holiday in Barbados, he might be planning secret meetings with Rihanna. The Daily Mail reports that Simon is looking for his show to be saved and thinks Rihanna would be the perfect person to help in those matters.
The ratings have dipped in the UK and the changes that are going to happen in the US version, with LA Reid not returning, has allegedly made Simon interested in getting Rihanna for either one of his shows — the UK or US version.
The Sun also has reported that “Simon is a huge admirer of Rihanna and knows she’s star quality. As well as her bringing an aura to the panel thanks to her standing in music, she is also feisty.”
Rihanna has been a part of the show in different aspects in the past. She could easily be seen as someone with an amazing opinion if she chose to be one of the judges.
And if Simon doesn’t want to end there, he could also ask Chris Brown if he is available to judge — now that would be a crazy panel, which would rival Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on American Idol!
So HollywoodLifers, do you think that Rihanna would be great for The X Factor? Sound off below!

I would love to see Rihanna on the next season of The X Factor. I think she would add the perfect touch to the show and she would also provide really good relevant feedback for contestants as well. My DISH coworker first told me about this possibility. I recorded the whole last season on my DISH Hopper with the PrimeTime Anytime feature. I like to set this up to record all primetime programming that comes on the four major networks. I save time with this because I don’t have to set up any individual timers.
