People are so stupid. The issue is not gun control, the sooner this country comes together and realizes it, the better off we all will be. And for people esp celebs that arent even from America saying things about gun control and our rights as Americans..really? if you have such a problem with our rights, freedom of speech, our constitution and our rights as Americans, you can get the hell out of this country

CT has one of the strictest gun control laws in the country. He comitted a crime by stealing his mother’s guns after he was denied while trying to purchase one. I highly doubt these celebs are going to give up their armed guards. Why should an average citizen not be allowed to carry & protect their family? Also, A town in Georgia requires every house hold to have a gun & has the lowest crime rate in the state.

exactly, we need to have some limits on violent movies and video games. This stuff cannot continue to hide as protected speech.

I can’t believe this is still a topic of discussion in 2012! Yeah guns don’t kill people, people do, but guns are made to kill people. They aren’t made to unclog your toilet or make rice.
It provides a much easier solution, especially with the amount of control over them, to go kill a bunch of people. And those with easy access with firearms have more of a chance to commit suicide, and firearms are the preferred method for that.
It’s easier to kill someone with a gun than it is with a baseball bat, and easy to lethally wound someone. I’ve never held a gun before in my life, but I still know where to aim to kill.
If we have stricter gun control, no one is taking away your right to hunt. But 4,000 bullets? How many deer are you going to kill (quoting Bloomberg here)? Flak-jacket piercing bullets? Ever seen a deer in one? Why is something like that even on the market? If you want a gun, you hunt with it, anything outside should be strictly controlled. Including guns sales. Like I said, 4,000 bullets ir flak-jacket piercing bullets should not be on the market outside of military.

By far, most guns are owned by people who only want them for self protection. Try to remember that every issue has at least two sides.

Self protection from people with guns? You can’t argue that guns are not made to kill, and kill is exactly what they did in this case and in many others. 48,000 people per year die from guns and these kinds of murders per year. We waste another year, and another 48,000 will be killed. In 2012, when gunpowder has been killing since the Mongols figured out how to use it, we, the USA, still have not had a serious conversation about stricter gun control policies and actually done something. So people want protection. Buy an alarm for your house. And by the way, a proven statistic, people with guns in their house have more of a chance to be shot by them then those without guns in their house.

No words just have no words, all I can do is pray for the families,Ask our lord for this night give them all comfort and his love and strength for the days that come. In my prayer I saw all of those precious children in the arms of angels in the throne room of Heaven with the Lord Jesus. Hey for all these so called celebrities and the industry who is really responsible for a lot of violent behavior in people of all ages in movies, games etc. Glamorizing violence making hero’s out of murderers. And folks shouldn’t be afraid of mental health issues or feel it is a taboo to get help or afraid to get help or worry about what someone will think if they find out you are having feelings of suicide and you can;t handle the pressures and stresses of life. To kill anybody is so horrible but children. I really thinking Home schooling,

I don’t agree gun control will stop this type of madness from happening. I do agree it should very hard to legally buy a gun but if someone wanted to do something like this again…unfortunately they will. If they can’t get guns they will try to blow up people or poison people simply because in their warpe, sick mind they want to kill and if they can’t do it through guns they will think of some other way to take their victims out and they will find it. Why would a young man want to kill little who did not do anything to him…..who didn’t even know him? His mind was sick and evil. He would have killed whether he had a gun or not.

My prayers go out to the families who lost their little ones today, for the families of the adult victims who died and for the ones who were injured.

i don’t know why these celebrities continue to speak out when they are living in a completely different world ten the rest of us. They don’t need guns because they have all sorts of security measures to protect them and their families. The rest of us don’t live like that. Gun control will do nothing to solve this matter. 20 some children were also stabbed to death in China today. The world is filled with evil and people will continue to find a way to commit those evil acts. People have and need to have the right to protect themselves from this evil and guns can provide them with that. Guns would be like drugs, illegal but still easily accessible. The real problem here is people growing up to become killers. Children need to be loved and cared for. It is those who are not that grow up to commit such terrible, evil acts. The problem starts at home, not with guns. Celebrities need to come back down to earth and realize that the rest of the world lives very differently from them and just because they have a powerful voice, they should not be speaking for all of us.

The 20 children in China were stabbed, but NONE of them was killed. And that’s the difference : in China this lunatic had no access to guns, so he didn’t achieve his goal of killing these schoolchildren. Whereas in the US Lanza could just grab whatever gun was stored at home and go on his killing spree.
Gun control will not stop crazy people from doing horrible things, but it will definitely make less victims.

Yeah, it won’t stop people from doing violence because that is in our nature, but it will stop the high death count. There is a difference between alive and dead, and a big one at that.

Gun control won’t “make less victims” but it will add gun owners to the victim list.

I cannot, for the life of me, even begin to think about the horror and devastation this has caused the family’s and the friends of all those involved/witnessed to. I just cannot fathom it.
Damn !!!
The boy had mental problems, and with a history of such, he shoulda been locked up,in a mental ward, and this would not have happened.
Christmas will never be the same for these families and friends. RIP all of the victims of this heinious crime.
Tenderness and understanding : that is what is called for now.

Wow, I am afraid, for my children, for the second time in my life, to send them to school.
A place where they should be made to feel safe.
First Columbine and now this.
When will the devastation end !?!?
Stay safe families in Connecticut: And know that we are praying for you all.

The gun did commit the crime, the person did. If you outlaw guns, I guess ice picks are next, baseball bats, knives and so forth. The socialist democrat can be so lame sometimes.

Stricter gun control laws will not stop carnage such as this…just ask any felon how easy it is to get a gun even though they are not legally allowed to “own” a gun. What could have prevented this level of carnage would have been staff member(s) of this school that are trained gun owners the right to carry their weapon on campus…just imagine if the principal was packing and took the shooter out before he had the chance to take the innocent lives of more than 20 children and adults. Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.

I agree. In some states, what you suggested, is already in effect.
Like I said: I am now afraid to send my kids to school….
