It was a very somber day around the world on December 14 as 27 people were left dead following an elementary school shooting in Connecticut — and now some of Hollywood’s A-Listers are calling for stricter gun control.
Eva Longoria, Martha Stewart, and Mark Ruffalo are just a handful of celebrities who took to Twitter, calling for stricter gun control laws following the death of 27 people who were shot at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. The shooter, identified as Adam Lanza, began shooting at the school after 9:40 AM resulting in 27 deaths, 20 of which were children, according to CBS News.
Eva Longoria: How can a 20yr old with a history of mental problems have access to guns! #GunControl,
Martha Stewart: stricter gun control- why have we not adopted new rules and laws??? what is wrong with us????
Mark Ruffalo: It’s time for this conversation. Michael Bloomberg: Gun Control Needs ‘Immediate Action’ From Obama.
Mehcad Brooks: Those of us that are for reasonable gun control should join the NRA. Its the only way to affect gun policy from the inside. We need unity.
Star Jones: YEP…I signed it: “Immediately address the issue of gun control through the introduction of legislation in Congress.”
Marlon Wayans: My sentiments exactly. GUN CONTROL!!! Get guns out of killers hands.
Roseanne Barr: Gun control is the issue that they will use to lock us all down, when they should be talking about mental health & psychotropic drugs.
Debra Messing : begin a national conversation on sensible gun control. In memory of the lives devastated today, pls consider signing.
Piers Morgan: Never seen President Obama so upset. And he just ordered the gun control debate to happen. Good for him, true leadership in a crisis.
Do you think stricter gun laws ought to be enacted following this tragic shooting, HollyMoms?
