A music teacher has become a hero after she barricaded 15 school children into a closet during the devastating Connecticut shooting on Dec. 14.

Maryrose Kristopik is truly a hero. During the terrifying school massacre at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut she herded 15 children into a closet, while the shooter Adam Lanza banged on the door screaming, “Let me in! Let me in!” Maryrose didn’t crack under the horrifying circumstances, during what has been described as the second deadliest shooting in US history. So sad.

Backstory Of The Shooting

On Dec. 14, Adam, 20, went into the Sandy Hook school in Newtown, CT, shortly after 9.40am and began shooting, for no apparent reason. He killed 26 people, 20 of whom were children aged 6 to 7 years. His mother Nancy Lanza was found dead at Adam’s residence. The principal, Dawn Hochsprung, was among the adults killed.

Three weapons were recovered at the scene. Adam wore a bullet-proof vest and he died at the scene. Police are saying that he died from self-inflicted gun wounds.

How Maryrose Saved Her Class From The Shooter

Maryrose’s quick thinking saved countless lives, as she pushed the children into the closet to save them from Adam’s bullets. Parents are now praising her as a hero, reports The Daily Mail. One mother whose nine-year-old son was among the children said: “I want to thank her. She saved their lives.”

One parent, Brenda Lebinski, said her eight-year-old daughter is alive thanks to Maryrose’s actions. She said, “My daughter’s teacher is my hero. She locked all the kids in a closet and that saved their lives.”

It is such an unspeakable tragedy that has taken so many lives. The only positive that can be said is that without Maryrose, many more lives may have been lost.

Here at HollywoodLife.com, our thoughts go out to the victims who were killed, and all the families who are mourning a lost family member.

What do YOU think ,HollywoodLifers? Is Maryrose a hero?

Yes I think she is a Hero. But I thought it was a bathroom. She should get an award for her good deed.

It was a first grade teacher, Kaitlyn Roig, who hid all her students in a bathroom and barricaded the door. She refused to open the door to police until they proved they were offices, in case it was a trick by the shooter.
