It’s finally here! Check out T-Swift’s newest music video for ‘I Knew You Were Trouble’!

Even though today is Taylor Swift‘s 23rd birthday, she’s the one who gave us a present! The pop star rewarded her fans on Dec. 13 with the premiere of the music video for her hit song “I Knew You Were Trouble.”

This is the third music video to be made from Taylor’s record-selling album Red. The song, rumored to be about ex-boyfriend John Mayer, has a notably different sound and feel from the rest of Taylor’s music. The guy in the video bears a resemblance to John — check out the hat and tattoos.

“As soon as I started writing this song, I knew it was different from anything else on the record, so I knew I wanted the video to be different from anything we’d done ever done,” she told MTV. “I wanted to tell the story of a girl who falls into a world that’s too fast for her and suffers the consequences.”

Her 23rd Video On Her 23rd Birthday

In honor of the pop star’s birthday, MTV has been airing a weeklong special about Taylor. Earlier in the week the network debuted a photo gallery from the “I Knew You Were Trouble” video shoot, a video chronology of her 22 previous music videos, and a sit down interview with MTV News’ Sway Calloway.

In addition to premiering on Taylor’s birthday, the “I Knew You Were Trouble” video has another special significance:

“December 13th is my 23rd birthday, and also the premiere of my 23rd video. How fun,” Taylor tweeted on Dec. 10.

Taylor’s Video Monologue

In the video, she starts out by saying, “I think when it’s all over it just comes back in flashes, you know? It’s like a kaleidoscope of memories. It just all comes back. But he never does. I think part of me knew the second I saw him that this would happen. It’s not really anything he said, or anything he did, it was the feeling that came along with it and the crazy thing is, I don’t know if I’m ever going to feel that way again. But I don’t know if I should. I knew his world moved too fast and burned too bright but I just thought, how can the devil be pulling you towards someone who looks so much like an angel when he smiles at you. Maybe he knew that when he saw me. I guess I just lost my balance. I think that the worst part of it all wasn’t losing him, it was losing me.”

I loved it. It portrayed the feel and everything of the song. As I was watching I got entirely what she was talking about. I loved the beginning, I think it added to the song. What was to come. Amazing job once again, Taylor! :)

i think that stars don’t write most of their songs i think professionals do most of it and Im not saying that she doesn’t know how to write songs but i don’t think she writes most of it.

@lloous It doesn’t work for me either. I don’t think the music goes with that music video. The music video is too… inappropriate for the type of music that is played.

Most mature Video of Taylor Swift ever!! love the twist and the story line..
I can relate to it..we all do this sometimes. like the girl on the video, even if we know it’s wrong, we just got to be with the guy even if we know that what we are doing is all wrong, but we’re willing to be in trouble for the reason that we really love the guy and just hope that someday he will change.
it’s so sad.

This song is definitely not about Jake G. He does not live some fast life. I think it’s about John Mayer. The guy in the video even looks like Mayer…the hipster looking musician. Plus, it’s all about decoding the letters on the cd…which I have done :)
