According to a new interview, Jenni was in the final stages of buying the Learjet that took her life on Dec. 9.

Pop sensation Jenni Rivera, who tragically died after her plane crashed on Dec. 9, was reportedly in the midst of buying the private jet from business executive Christian E. Esquino Nunez before her death.

Christian, an executive of Starwood Management, which owned the Learjet 25, said Jenni was preparing to buy the plane for $250,000 and as a result the company let her “demo” the aircraft for free the night of the crash, according to an interview with The Los Angeles Times.

Christian, 50, swears that maintenance and safety issues “had nothing to do with the accident.”

Jenni’s Plane Was May Have Been Tied To Drug Trafficking

Christian is wanted for questioning regarding his ties to the plane, and has been convicted of drug-trafficking and counterfeiting government inspection stamps.

According to ABC News, Christian could be wanted for questioning with Mexican authorities, as well as investigators with the National Transportation and Safety Board (NTSB) regarding the fatal crash that took Jenni’s life along with six other passengers.

The Plane Crash Details

The plane practically nosedived,” Mexican transportation official Gerardo Ruiz Esparaza

explained. “The impact must have been terrible.”

The plane began falling at a 45-degree angle 1.2 miles from where it ultimately crashed. Although more details are being released about the actual crash, Gerardo says the cause is still unknown.

The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board sent a team to join the investigators, but it will take days to locate every part of the Learjet 25 and determine the cause.

There has been some question about the 78-year-old pilot of the plane, but Gerardo assures that he had a valid Mexican pilot’s license.

Alejandro Argudin, head of Mexico’s civil aviation agency, told Radio Formula no emergency call had been made before the crash. He also added that investigators weren’t sure if the plane contained flight data recorders.

Jenni’s Mom Hopes It’s Not Her Body

While investigators run DNA tests to determine the remains belong to Jenni, her mother Rosa Saavedra is holding out hope.

“I still trust God that perhaps the body isn’t hers,” Jenni’s mother said in a press conference Dec. 11, believing it could have been another woman’s body at the crash site. “We’re hoping it’s not true, that perhaps someone took her and left another woman there.”

What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Is Christian to blame for the plane crash? Will he be connected to the cause of it?

Mexican journalists reported that a drug cartel was involved. Jenny had been threatened by a drug cartel prior to the plane crash.

This whole crash thing sounds too stange to me…. It’s almost as shady as the suicide nurse from London.
