Lindsay is spiraling out of control yet again and her father tells Hollywoodlife.com EXCLUSIVELY what he thinks about Lindsay’s current legal and financial woes.
Lindsay Lohan, 26, was scheduled to appear in court Dec. 12, but she chose to ditch her court hearing to hang with her boy band beau Max George in London instead. Lindsay’s father Michael Lohan reveals to Hollywoodlife.com that he was disappointed in her decision to skip out on her arraignment.
“I think she should have shown up to show respect for the court, that takes priority over anything else. Her legal team should have mandated for her to show up.”
Lindsay has repeatedly had run-ins with the law and Michael believes her substance abuse problem is to blame. Although jail seems to be the obvious punishment for Lindsay, her father doesn’t think that’s what she needs.
“The best thing the judge can do, and I know the judge is lenient on her, the judge should mandate Lindsay to rehab for a year. If she doesn’t go to rehab, fine put her in jail. Lindsay does not belong in jail,” Michael explains. “I’m doing everything I can to get her into rehab and no one else is doing anything.”
Michael also addressed Lindsay’s financial woes:
“Lindsay has been given so many opportunities to make money and her agent keeps turning things down. $30,000 for a 30 second ‘No Drink and Drive’ campaign? Her agent said it would be embarrassing for her.”
As previously reported, Lindsay’s probation was officially revoked at the Dec. 12 hearing. A new court date has been set for Jan. 15, where the judge, Commissioner Jane Godfrey, will decide whether or not Lindsay really did violate her probation, which could send her to jail for up to 245 days.
