Kristen flew into NYC just for the 12.12.12 concert at Madison Square Garden, and she looked stunning as she asked for viewer help to rebuild the state of New Jersey! Good for her!
Kristen Stewart can come off as aloof at times, but her appearance at the 12.12.12 Hurricane Sandy benefit concert on Dec. 12 was anything but. The Twilight actress flew to New York City specifically to appear at the benefit at Madison Square Garden to encourage her fans to donate and support the efforts to rebuild the eastern seaboard!
She was given a humorous introduction from the night’s de facto emcee, Billy Crystal, who joked about how young viewers were asking their parents who he was, but would need no introduction for the next presenter. He said she flew specifically from Los Angeles to NYC for the event. “She got here in three minutes,” he joked. “That’s what happens when a vampire flies at night.”
Wearing a hip yellow, black, and grey jumpsuit-style dress, Kristen, 22, was on hand to speak about the devastation experienced in the state of New Jersey, specifically. “I’m here to talk to you about New Jersey tonight,” she said before she read a list of horrific statistics detailing what the state endured, before introducing a video package about Jon Bon Jovi‘s experiences when going back to his hometown after the storm.
“Now is your chance to be Jersey strong with us,” she said, encouraging fans to donate and support the cause. She then had the opportunity to introduce “Sayerville, New Jersey’s own, Bon Jovi” who performed a set of his hits songs that included an appearance from Bruce Springsteen, who had kicked the night off an hour earlier.
It was great to see Kristen use her star status as a force of good, encouraging her young fans to participate in the great cause of the night! We’re proud of you, Kristen!

People, It’s a concert to raise money not a fashion show and she did it to help the cause. She took time out of her schedule of interviews, etc. to help the cause. I bet she wrote a check. I donated money, did you?
