During Spike TVs Video Game Awards on Dec. 7 at Sony Studios, the cast and creator of ‘The Walking Dead’ EXCLUSIVELY told HollywoodLife.com their thoughts on a potential film! See what they had to say about the potential project!
Stars of The Walking Dead, Steven Yeun, Danai Gurira, and Norman Reedus joined creator, Robert Kirkman, to share their thoughts on the likelihood of their hit TV show becoming a blockbuster film. You might be surprised with what they had to say!
A ‘The Walking Dead’ Movie?
At the Spike TV VGA Awards, when HollywoodLife.com got to speak to creator Robert EXCLUSIVELY, we asked about the possibility of a movie version of the show being created after the series has completed, and Robert was quick to say, “I don’t really care, I want the comic book to survive everything. If the TV show went 10 or 15 seasons, and then maybe a movie some day. I just want when all calms down, and when nobody likes The Walking Dead anymore, and everybody hates me, that I am still in my basement doing the comic. I want to be on issue 2000 and still having fun! That is the ultimate goal for me, hopefully I have money in the savings account by then.”
But the cast of the hit show were much more excited at the opportunity, and Norman, who plays Daryl Dixon in the AMC show, gushed, “We have talked about films and ideas for films, and that would be cool. But it feels like we already shoot mini films already. Saying that, I would love to see it on the big screen!”
And co-star Steven, who plays fan favorite, Glenn, was quick to EXCLUSIVELY add, “A film would be crazy! I think that would be a great opportunity!”
Now, granted, a film would be a few years down the line since the show is pulling in incredible ratings, but what a way to end it with a film, don’t you think?
So HollywoodLifers, would you want to see a film come out of The Walking Dead series? Sound off below!
