It could be safe to say that the star-studded premiere at the Ziegfield Theatre in NYC was an event full of drama, (at least on the red carpet), when it came to the fashion statements made by the leading ladies of the highly-anticipated film!

Co-stars Amanda Seyfried and Anne Hathaway both opted for dark and dramatic ensembles that gave them an elusive edge. Whether or not these looks coincide with their personalities, the girls definitely took the red carpet by storm and embraced their mysterious and dark sides for the NYC premiere of Les Miserables in NYC on Dec. 10.

Who knows if the tone of their attire was planned, but it’s obvious that the ladies felt they needed to make a bold statement at the premiere of the highly-anticipated film that hits theaters on Christmas Day. Amanda slipped into an Alexander McQueen gown for the second time in a row. The look she wore in London at the premiere was fun, flirty and romantic where as this look is dark, dramatic and bold.

The dress featured a gold embellished bodice that led into a floor-length skirt that was soft and flowy. A tortoise shell belt with a gold buckle hugged her waist and separated the busy top from the simple bottom giving the look an overall great balance.

To accompany the dramatics, Amanda opted for minimal jewelry but intense makeup that featured an exaggerated cat-eye. She had her hair slicked back into a textured, braided bun that exposed the beautifully embellished bodice of the gown. Finishing off her look with an Alexander McQueen clutch and Harry Winston jewels, Amanda successfully attained an edgy ensemble.

Who do you think looked better dressed for dramatics? Tell us what you think and VOTE for your preferred look!

I loved the movie, the actors, the story, the music. I was for the first time able to understand the story. Loved the gowns and the dramatic make-up etc all necessary and tasteful.
