The DJs are idiots and stupids. How I wish the DJs feel like that poor nurse that died of shame. Probably the DJs are feeling like the nurse right now hopefully because they need to feel bad for what they cause.

If we all were not brainwashed from the age of three in believing that any member of the so called royal family were any more special than you or me, firstly there wouldn’t have been any prank call, and secondly nurse Jacintha Saldanha wouldn’t have felt so bad about allowing the call through, and thus not taken her own life. We really do have to start re-educating society so that no human is thought of as any more important than any other, and stop those full of such self importance from telling us otherwise. Get it?

I feel for the family. A joke is a joke and we’ve all made certain decisions in life without thinking about them… and I could tell you that all of us have pranked others in our life time. so for those who are pointing fingers at the radio hosts should look at your past mistakes as well. Someone who commits suicide is not just worried about the shame from a prank there has to be more going on in her head. i feel for her family that she just left because of a stupid prank.

This is too much.

Here’s the thing, the radio hosts can’t do anything unless the producers, legal team, and management okay it. The producers and legal team screwed these people and left them hanging. Moreover, they should have gotten release forms to even be allowed to air this prank because they still technically defamed a hospital (even though they did not release specific names) and they did receive private information from a nurse who broke protocol/HIPPA by releasing the info. BTW, that nurse was not Jacintha all she (Jacintha) did was transfer the call the nurse in the correct hospital department, which was her job. A Nurse manning phone often has similar responsibilities to a receptionist only they have to follow HIPPA as well as hospital protocol. Not only does she (Jacintha) not responsible for verifying the legitimacy of the people over the phone but also lacks accesses/authority to Kate’s private information/files (other than whereabouts and time checked in and again she just forwarded the call). It was the responsibility of the nurse/department that Jacintha forwarded the call to, to both verify the people’s identities as well as to see if release forms were on file (as well as get Will and/or Kate’s verbal/written confirmation to say anything). That nurse clearly did no such thing and is the one who is to blame. Side note: Jacintha was not reprimanded at all, was being given support by the hospital and fell staff members, and was not even liable to be sued. This is why I have to question what kind of mindset would a wife and mother would have to be in order to kill herself over basically doing her job. In addition, I’m pretty sure that not only is God supposed to be emphatically forgiving but also not too keen on suicide (unless it’s a selfless act to save another) so devout Catholic (who are basically the biggest anti-suicide/pro-life branch of the Christian faith) I think not. Which is why I say that Jacintha committing suicide out of “shame” for basically doing her job is a silly excuse/cop-out for her to commit suicide as well as a cover up for what had to be a woman dueling with unbearable amounts of stress/depression life that she lead, possibly in secret to her own family because of her strict upbringing (which is much more common than most people think).

Yeah, if only she’d resorted to a nice variety selection of drugs to cope with it all, like most celebrities do. I’m not going to excuse what the media did. The only way they can atone themselves is to not do this again.

I think you are exactly right. I don’t believe that the DJ’s could imagine that anything like this would happen. There seems to be a lot more to this than what is being told.

Book of Proverbs ch26:18, a man who misleads someone and then claims that he was only joking is like a madman playing with a deadly weapon. words from 2000 + years that still hold true

…..and that misleading tome applies to Kate Middleton too…..”morning sickness” adds a deliberately cute little touchy feely tone to what was a case of explosive diarrhea. Most people in the United Kingdom with their terrible governmental health care system would not be hospitalized for wretching or having a case of the runs. They would be sent home with some Pepto Bismol and Imodium and told to drink Gatorade or Ginger Ale. If every single British pregnant woman was hospitalized for days because of morning sickness I would retract my comment here…..but you know as well as I do…..that is not the case. I think the mere visual of the “princess” having a bad case of diarrhea was just too much for the press to handle. I mean no one would even have bothered calling about that because princesses and poop just don’t co-mingle in the same story.

These poor media personalities, they’re such victims aren’t they? How can they be so free and easy from now on? ho hum,…..it’s such a difficulty for them to bear… To further mitigate the situation the radio station provided psychologists to the DJs as they were vulnerable and fragile. I would’ve thought that under the circumstances they “should” know it’s just fall out and not to take all the negative talk personally…..the poor things, but they should be able to cope with it and have the right perspective shouldn’t they, just as they expected Jacintha should have. and them being in the media industry and all, you’d expect they’d have developed a thick skin like a politician by now….. PLEASE, let’s put this in the right perspective…..accept and recognise, as the hospital statement said, to ensure this doesn’t happen again.

Radio Dj’s are only allowed to do segments there producers, the studio, and the legal team okay. So basically everyone left these people high and dry to save their own skins.

Can’t it be said that it doesn’t really matter what the circumstances the DJ’s are under? I’m sure they’ll manage and just cop it on the chin, afterall, that’s what the media expected of those involved with the prank. Are you feeling sorry for them? They can grow up, it’s just so so so simple, they don’t need to take the blame but they just need to promise and also on behalf of the station, they’ll never broadcast a prank without prior consent. The more the media as a whole resists the more they just look like they’re slithering to minimize litigation and having to shut their trap. I don’t care if the nurse used it as an excuse, it doesn’t detract from the duty of care that’s required in general and for the future.

Oh really, so are you saying let’s carry on then? …. the media’s conduct was in no way rueful? well, i guess it’s all ok then, as you were…..let’s just forget the minor fact that it was given consent to be broadcast.

I think there was something else going on with Jacintha, maybe some sort of depression. I can’t believe she would leave behind 2 kids and a loving husband all because she put through a call. Maybe it was the last straw on top of other things she was dealing with? She looks so unhappy in every picture I’ve seen of her, even the picture where she’s standing with her 2 kids, she looks like she’d rather be anywhere but there.

Maybe those people will now realize things aren’t always fun and games. They should have never tried prank calling Kate Middletons room in the first place. Find another way to entertain people. Now this has become a loss for a family.

Im sorry but you are deluded if you think the the DJs are at fault! You should be blaming religion for raising this woman to believe that making a “Mistakes” is shameful and means you need to take your life! I thought god forgave everyone???

Not only that, but what kind of mindset do you have to be in to kill yourself over basically doing your job. and also I’m pretty sure that not only is God supposed to be emphatically forgiving but also not to keen on suicide (unless it’s a self left act to save another) so devout Catholic (who are basically the biggest anti-suicide/pro-life branch of the Christian faith) i think not. Woman raised in a strict upbringing, living a life she may not have been too happy with, dueling with unbearable amounts of stress seems more accurate to me.

So very sad,yet i can’t help thinking it was something far more terrible than what happened at hospital. You just don’t all of a sudden kill yourself,I think it had been in her thoughts for awhile and than what happened just pushed her over. As for the Djs,this kind of show was a ticking time bomb as they have pulled this kind of bulling on many others on there show. This is a hell of a lesson. Why does it always take a tragedy for people to wake -up.,

I am sorry that the nurse died and this is indeed a tragedy.. But if anyone has ever dealt with suicide knows that there were other issues that were boiling and this gave her an excuse to end her life. Though I felt that the prank call was wrong,I felt that she was threatened by her job for violating Hippa and sharing the royal secrets without confirming . I see no reason why she would have killed herself because this would have blown over. This is indeed a sad time for her family but I really believe she had thoughts of suicide for the longest time and this was her excuse to do it. This does not put the DJ’s off the hook but they were not totally at fault.

might be over the top, but hey you know…..from other reports looks like public opinion has opened the floodgates between England and Aus to get this issue sorted!
